Our Adventure In Chacala

It all began in 2004 when we attended our cousin’s wedding. We fell in love with Chacala, the culture of the Mexican People, the giving attitude of people from North America, the involvement of Rotary in the community and the awesome beauty of this part of God’s world.

We chose to expand our life here by acquiring from Gary Wright this exciting and challenging property in Orofino. Following the advice of our dear friend Susana Connors, we selected Jose Enrique del Valle to lead our design and construction team. We appreciate his leadership and cherish our friendship.

We selected the theme Mexican Mediterranean Rivera architecture for our Casa. Our niece, Ellen Taylor, was closely involved in bringing our design to reality and sharing the joy of designing, building, shopping and creating this beautiful casa.

Construction began in March 2007, and after numerous “mañanas”, we spent our first night here on January 20, 2011.

CASA CAROLINA is a dream to be shared for all to enjoy.
