About Hacienda San Andrés Hotel Gourmet con SPA

Our project

The Hacienda San Andrés has a long history. 1535 is an appropriate year to mark its beginnings, although the region already had a past that cannot be fully distinguished from that of the hacienda. The hacienda was dedicated at some point to lumber exploitation, which served in the construction of railways. Later on, as the War of Independence took place in the distance, it functioned as barracks for revolutionary and federal troops.

Today, it serves as a space that allows us to escape from the urban chaos, relax, and return to the roots of our food and country life.

At the hacienda there are areas that we take great care to maintain, such as the natural labyrinth, the granary, and the bell tower, but most especially the farm, the vegetable garden, and our land. This is where the ingredients that we use in the kitchen come from. These ingredients also travel to the kitchens of various restaurants, including Broka, the brother project of the hacienda in the Roma neighborhood of Mexico City. To continue promoting sustainable consumption we created La Volanta, an online market for produce and prepared foods with weekly delivery to Mexico City every Wednesday.

Hacienda San Andrés seeks to disconnect us from our routine and reconnect us authentically and fundamentally immersed in nature, overlooking the impressive panoramas of the valley and the volcanoes. During your visit you may accompany us in the different activities that we offer or spend your time freely and relax as you wish.

Our hacienda is also a refuge for the arts. In the interior there is a mural by Federico Silva (National Arts Award) and a door-sculpture by Ángela Gurría. The chapel, constructed in the 16th century over an Aztec ceremonial center, forms an equilateral triangle with the peak of the Popo and the head of the Sleeping Woman volcanoes. Here you can find one of the three earthly paradises of the ancient Nahua people. The critic Xavier Moissen has said that this chapel “constitutes the third great work of Mexican muralist art of the 20th century… Diego Rivera and José Clemente Orozco left immortal works in Chapingo and Guadalajara. Rivera in his classic style, Orozco in the expressionist and Silva in the abstract.“ We must also note that Diego Rivera painted the first painting known as “La Era” in the gardens of the hacienda, testifying to the beauty of the landscape and architecture of the place.

Excellent space to relax and enjoy the outdoors with the family. They have ample space for recreational activities, there is a maze to walk around. And their food, excellent, very rich and healthy. If you are looking for a getaway from the busy city life, this place is perfect.

The Hacienda is very beautiful and is very well preserved, the gardens are very beautiful, they have a labyrinth, the staff is very friendly, good cleaning, the kitchen is excellent. We eat vegan and it is difficult to find where to eat well and they did great here! Much of what you eat is from their orchards and fruit trees. The salsa macha and jams are delicious and can be purchased in the lobby. We really liked it!

The place is perfect! But the attention is bad and too late The food began to be served more than an hour after the projection and there were spaces of more than 15 minutes between plate and plate Also in the restaurant they allow diners' pets to be inside the place without a leash What causes them to bother other attendees to the place when going to lean on the legs of these people
