I went to Hola! for 3 weeks whilst in Merida. The classes were amazing and I'd definitely recommend anyone going here. My Spanish improved so much in that short space of time. Thanks you guys!

I just did a week of private classes with Nidi. She was great!!! I felt like I was really connecting with the language. She knew just when to help me out and just when to let me figure it out. Very professional. Her and Hirobi were very welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend this school.

I had one week of lessons with Raul and it was fantastic. I learnt a lot and felt much more confident speaking Spanish after the lessons. Great settling and very relaxed and open teaching style. Highly recommended.

Hola Spanish School is by far the best place to learn Spanish in Merida. It's perfectly located in Merida Centro in Santiago close to the English Library. Nidi and Hiroshi are fantastic teachers. Both make learning so easy, because they can break down complex things in simple terms. I take private classes with Nidi twice a week and since day one it's been like spending time with my friend I've known forever. Hola makes learning Spanish so fun! They also offer tours in Merida and the surrounding attractions and cooking classes. Not only will you learn the language, but you will learn social customs and meet really great people.

Hola Spanish School is an excellent place to learn Spanish. Nidi and Hiroshi are so welcoming and create a wonderful, community vibe. They are both happy to tailor classes to your interests and needs. Both Nidi and Hiroshi offer a perfect blend of academic grammar instruction with insights into the practical, conversational usages of Spanish. I am so happy that I found Hola for Spanish classes; not only is my Spanish improving significantly, but I feel more at home in Mérida now.

If you are looking to improve your Spanish and learn about the culture of the Yucatan, this is the school for you! I highly recommend the "experiencias" program for students who have at least an intermediate-advanced level of Spanish. Hiroshi and Nidi were excellent hosts who always made me feel welcome. From the airport pickup to classes, field trips, and arranging my home-stay, they never overlooked any details. Be sure to take the cooking class with Doña Susi - she is a delight! Everyone at Hola Spanish School is very attentive, personable, and a pleasure to learn from.

Hola!, a very good school to either start your learning of Spanish or to bring it to another level. I have been attending Hola! For about 2 months. I was a true beginner when it came to my Spanish skills. Before I came to Hola! I tried another school in town that provided group lessons. Their instructor was very competent, but I found myself floundering in a group setting. The various international accents, plus wearing masks due to the pandemic, made it very difficult to hear and understand what people were saying. Couple that with the different levels of Spanish competence I was truly lost. I decided, at least, initially, that I needed 1 on 1 instruction until I had a more solid foundation to build on before tackling group interactions. Hola! Provide that to me and then some. I asked to be rotated around the different instructors so I can hear accent and language variations that have proved to be very helpful. I am an older and a slower language learner. The instructors, Raul*, Fer, and Nidi who is the owner, have been very patient with me. I can now read and understand much of what I read while walking around town. I am able to converse, granted limitedly, but I am vastly improved! David, the school's coordinator is also a wealth of local knowledge. BTW, the real head of Hola! is Nina. She is the owner’s cat and truly is the Queen that reigns the school! What also is very nice is that often, a few times per month, the teachers and students have been gathering at a local Cantina for an evening of Karaoke and comradery. This helps us get to know each other better, and practice what we have been learning while having a blast of an evening. All in all, there are numerous Spanish language schools to choose from in Merida, but you won’t be disappointed in choosing Hola.
