Nice place and great location, but just one big dorm room, with visual barriers between the compartments. The alleged private rooms are also in this one dorm room

Great hostel, I enjoyed my stay, the rooms and common areas are clean and it is very well located on the island! Thank you

We had a very unpleasant stay at Hostal Holbox. The way they are advertising their dorms is really misleading. We booked 2 beds in a 8-bed dorm room and when we got there it turned out to be a 25-bed dorm room. On top of that, the whole dorm was open air and it was a hotspot for mosquitos. At the toilets we had to clean our hands with toiletpaper after we washed them. Also the owner was very unfriendly and didn't try to help us. We checked out very early and didnt want to stay any longer because we felt scammed, so we offered to pay the first night but get the money of the second night back. This wasnt an option for the rude owner and he didnt even want to help us. DO NOT GO HERE!

This was the cheapest hostel on the island! Everybody is in one big room and the "private" rooms are also in this one big room with the bunks being the walls of the private rooms. It's really hot in the evenings and if you are unlucky to get a bed without a fan (as I did) you may have some trouble sleeping. Since it is one big room, I would recommend earplugs because you will hear ALL of the sounds. It is overall pretty clean with amenities such as a kitchen, common area, bathrooms, and showers with hot water. It also comes with complimentary breakfast which consists of fruit and a bit of bread. Pretty modest. There are cheaper bunks which are the top bunks. Since they don't have nets you will get eaten alive by mosquitoes so keep that in mind too! I would say you are pretty much getting what you're paying for. Not very COVID friendly but it is a hostel and that is pretty much expected.

It’s a disaster! On hostelworld.com it was listed as an 8-bed dorm. However, you will end up in a big open air space, with at least 25 people. Also, if you want a little bit of privacy, don’t bother, you won’t have any. People from upstairs can look down on you. I even heard girls saying they felt uncomfortable, because of people looking at them in their beds. Totally misleading. The place is bloody hot and you will be an easy meal for mosquitoes. When we confronted them with their misleading ways, they were lying straight to my face. They know exactly what they’re doing. When we arrived they called it a “new concept”. It’s not a new concept, its a big scam! We were supposed to stay there for two nights. We didn’t even sleep there one night, because we booked another hotel a few hours after we arrived at this disaster. We even offered to pay for one night and get our money back for the second, but they didn’t want to give back our money and came with stupid excuses, as you expect. They are scammers and they know it! Don’t get encouraged by high ratings! Stay away!

I went there in March, first for 2 nights and finally I stayed 10 days :) :) I was solo traveling and I felt there as at home. Pedro, Sara and Rocío made easy my stay there being helpful. The hostel has a nice garden with a full equipped kitchen. It's clean and comfortable, nothing to complain! For sure if I'm going back to the island I'll spend my time there, I can recommend you to do the same ;)

We wish there was a 6th star we could give this hostel! This was by far our favourite place we have stayed during our travels. Firstly, the location is perfect for Holbox. 2 mins away from the beach and next to some amazing restaurants and cafes. The security at the hostel is very safe, and entrance is even done by use of digital finger print security. The staff are incredible. I haven’t met such friendly hosts anywhere else. The guy who lives there, Pedro, made us all fresh ceviche one evening and encouraged us to have as many helpings as we wanted. It was a family feel environment and was super easy to meet people and make friends. Breakfast was also included and unlimited. Fresh coffee, homemade bread, honey and fruit made the start of each day at the hostel enjoyable and social. We also loved the tour booked for us from the hostel reception, early morning sunrise kayaking, I really recommend this to anyone else staying! They also didn’t mind you bringing your own alcohol in which is a real game changer when trying to save money. There isn’t a bar within the hostel so they really just want you to have the best time possible. Would recommend this to everyone!!!! Xx

One of the best hostel I have ever visited. The concept is cool, very well thought and organised. The beds set up allows plenty of privacy to all guests, you basically feel in a private room. Cleanliness is impeccable at all times, literally. The beds are comfy and they also have one fan on each bed. Extra point was the breakfast included: fruits, coffee, tea, and a delicious bread with honey or jam. The staff was kind, and there was generally such a great atmosphere. Definitely highly recommend this place.
