This is as authentic Istmeño as it get. The dishes and recipes are all based on generations of love and learning. Try out a little bit of everything and get a taste of the original food traditions from indigenous towns like Juchitan. All very unique flavours. Simply love it. [ garnachas, totopos, tamales, mole rojo y negro, enchiladas, tortillas y mucho más... ]

We made an effort to visit all of the top restaurants in Oaxaca during our week here and this is by far our favorite. We came here at the recommendation of our guide Rodolfo. Rodolfo said that when news reporters asked the famous chef Enrique Olvera what his favorite restaurants are in Mexico, he listed two and La Teca is one of them. We got the tasting menu the first night we were here and came back two nights later and ordered our favorites. You MUST come here when you are in Oaxaca. You will have the best meal of your visit for sure

Amazing food. Just a lady cooking in her kitchen! Great service and not too expensive!

We like this place very much over past three years. Would like to see some variation in the menu.

Homestyle Oaxacan traditional cooking at its best. Delicious and deeply satisfying food. Friendly service. Lovely outdoor back courtyard.

I ate at La Teca today and thoroughly enjoyed myself. They have indoor and patio seating. I'm not familiar with food from the Isthmus and the waiter quickly explained the different dishes. I had the Plato Istmeño. It is one of the most expensive dinners at $200 pesos but it had chicken, potatoes, cabbage, plantain, three garnaches and a chili relleno. I asked for a friend who doesn't eat pork and the garnaches and chili relleno both use beef. I had a nice dessert and my bill was $285 including a drink. I plan on returning.

Best dinner we had in Oaxaca, we got the cheese balls, the garnachas, the stuffed pepper and the mole Amarillo, food came to our table Pipping hot, service was excellent. For dessert we got the fried bananas. Perfect ending for a great meal.
