★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really good food with many options on the menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Carlos is one of the coolest people we have met in Mexico! He gave us a ton of advice and we considered him a friend in a very short amount of time. They also rent cars at a very fair price!

The owner was very friendly and the food was good (although I didn’t like the horchata, it tasted watered down) and it didn’t come with a tortilla starter like many Mexican places. The owner gave us tips what to visit in the area which was very useful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a great lunch here on our way from Calakmul to Bacalar. We happened to arrive in an absolute downpour and we were guided from the car to the restaurant by staff with umbrellas. Very very kind host who told us a lot of history of the area and recommended us to visit Becan (rather than Xpujil which is right across the road) in the afternoon. And it was wonderful. When driving from Calakmul eastward, there are three restaurants as you enter the city, we’d highly recommend going for the 3rd which is La Tejita.
