Selina Cancun Downtown & Cowork - 77500 Cancún

We have stayed at this location for over 20 years. The location is perfect for us, being a short walk to and from the ADO bus station. However, after the conversion to the hostel, the rooms are overpriced and the service at the bar/restaurant is poor. Sad to say we won't be returning.

Very nice hostel. The food at the poolbar is very good. We had a great time there. There are more social hostels but the food and the staff made our stay very pleasant. Location is very good also. Enjoy!

Stayed here for one night. The hotel is located in a hastily converted old building. Stains on the walls and ceiling, etc. Basic room and bathroom. Much better value for money elsewhere in Cancun. Also be ready for the taxi drivers they allow to camp out in the entrance and forget being able to take an Uber easily. Close to the ADO terminal, at least.

I would give the staff and accommodations a 5 star rating and the bar/restaurant a 2. The bar now accepts only pesos, no cards. Menu has changed and is higher priced than surrounding eateries. The service outside can be slow to non-existent. A year ago the bar was a very good place to eat and drink.

First time in Cancún and this spot is a GEM. I’ve had some of the greatest encounters with other travelers, met some friends that I hope to build a life long relationship with, the rooms were fantastic better then most 4-5 star hotels I’ve stayed in NYC or Chicago. The rooms have sleek, modern mid-century style. The staff is friendly and kind, the restaurant and pool side is better than most clubs you can find in the area. People here are kind, friendly, well-travelled, open hearted and the vibes your youthful, energetic, positive and colorful. Come here if you want to feel safe, happy and meet others :) restaurant is bomb, staff is amazing, rooms are clean and cute, parties are lit.

A perfume was stolen from my bag. I left it in a place that was according to the receptionist safe but anyone had access to it. The room was fine but the toilets are 80% of the time very dirty. I also didn’t like that they charge you extra for the Cowork Area. The girl from the Grab & Go was super nice, as well as two or three bartenders but other than that everyone had a very lousy attitude, including the receptionists. The decoration of the Hostel is nice but the service is not.

very very disappointed of the quality of our stay for the price paid for a private room. I'm giving a star for the location and another one for the the helpfulness of the staff. It started with the fact that there are no elevators so you better not have a heavy suitcase. The first thing we saw as we opened the door was a dead cockroach, our reflex was to step on it.. the room was esthetically nice and clean overall. unfortunately the wall paper was peeling of the bathroom wall. the hand towel was perfectly folded but as I touched it it was soaking wet. The fridge started making a noise so loud we had to unplug it. The general condition of the hotel is shocking, leaks in the hallways, puddles, peeling paint from the ceiling from, botched reparations on the doors, stains on the walls. It's really unfortunate to see a Selina in this state especially after visiting the one in Tulum..

I had a good time here. The co-working space is quiet and helps to keep a good focus. I had some problems with my credit card and the staff at the reception was super helpful (thanks Gustavo!) Also the food at the bar was delicious. I would recommend getting a room in the main house because the music by the pool is on from early in the morning to late at night and sometimes really loud. So overall I would recommend it to meet nice people and get a bit of work done before enjoying the Cancun party life.
