The stay came with mixed feelings. We were nicely greeted. Neither of us were a fan of the welcome drink. Our room was ready after a brief wait. We had dinner at their high end Thai restaurant. The food was good except for the PhadThai, it did not taste right. My wife and I shared plates of food as was intended by the restaurant. Here comes the unpleasant part, we both went to bed not feeling well to our stomach. Around 12/1 am, I was heaving my guts up for a couple of hours. Thankfully, my wife did not start until about 2 or 3 am, and she was so sick she at both ends, she suffered an intestinal strain injury. The hotel was great about calling a doctor at my request, but we paid for the visit and medications. We spent 24 hours in bed and the next day we spent lying on the beach in one of their cabanas. We had chicken soup for 2 days. On day 3 we were able to get out and about. The room manager had created me when I arrive due to my status with Marriott. He gave me his card, said call him if I needed anything. I did on the first day, but we never heard from him until we were checking out. They removed the price of the dinner from my bill at my request. I would return to the property, it has a lot going for it, but I would be careful what I ordered. The manager said he would talk to the restaurant as we were leaving, but I never heard anything from him, nor did I see an email that he said he was doing to send me as we left the property. I guess what I am saying is if I were the manager, I would have paid for the doctor and the medications. I would have had a meeting with the kitchen to investigate what might have happened. I know it was not something else we ate elsewhere as the only thing we had to eat that day was powdered protein we brought from home as we had been on what is called the 30/10 diet. I repeat, I would probably stay at the property again, we had a nice room, it was simple but always clean. In fact, my hat is off to housekeeping, fresh towels, bed turned down, they changed the sheet after we recovered (upon my request) but the support staff is spectacular. PS. We go to Punta Mita and PV almost every year for over 10 years, I have never been sick from food poisoning. It was an amazing loss of 2 full days of vacation but I know stuff happens, I just wish there had been more attention to our event than greeting us goodbye as we left the property.

Currently staying at this hotel with my family in three rooms, one of which is a suite. There has been no running water in our suite all day, and apparently this is a reoccurring problem here. The hotel desk will not admit this, but the workmen told us this clearly in Spanish. The manager has done nothing to help- has not contacted us all day. Front desk staff was unhelpful and it took me raising my voice in Spanish to get another room for my elderly parents. This hotel is not with the price at all. Breakfast was good, other meals are just ok. Other staff is friendly, but the fact that basic items don’t work (no running water or flush toilets, no immediate apology or compensation) has made me believe that this hotel simply does not care about elderly guests. I am deeply disappointed.

10/10. The hotel staff make you feel like family and are incredibly attentive. It's the type of service you'd only expect in the best hotels in the world. Also the hotel grounds have plenty of high quality activities to keep you entertained for several days. I'll be back.

The hotel is in a beautiful location and has the requisite amenities of a 5-star resort. What it lacks is 5-star service. During my stay I found several issues with the room, which I reported to the staff. The first of which, a leaking sink, was addressed immediately. Beyond my first complaint however, the staff simply would respond with “I’m so sorry about that” and took no action to resolve issues. In general I would say that the staff is not very well trained. They stick to the script but do not go above and beyond to make sure you have an excellent experience. I dined in both of the restaurants as well as the ceviche bar at the beach, and poolside service. I found the service speed to be slow and attentiveness to be poor during all my meals at the resort.

We loved our stay at the W Hotel in Punta Mita. We don't love the rooms, but we love the staff, the property and the food. We stayed in a Spectacular Escape Guest room with Lake View with whirlpool. We would prefer a room with closed off bathroom, closet and more drawer space, and more room for sitting. But that's not the vibe of the rooms at this resort. We cannot say enough about how wonderful the staff were. The food and service were amazing. We were at the resort for New Years Eve; they threw a wonderful party.Sometimes these kinds of parties can be cheesy and feel like there isn't enough food and drink for guests, but this felt fun and abundant. They did a wonderful job with the party. The resort itself feels very private and more remote and that is the vibe we wanted. The one negative was how loud the music is some days- especially when the DJ was at the pool. It felt like a fave when it could have felt more chill. Overall- you will not regret your stay here!

The W Punta de Mita exceeded all expectations during our stay. The restaurant staff was so fun and helpful. Julio, Nacho, MIchael, Ricardo and Ariana made each meal such a pleasure! Additionally, the quality of the food throughout the entire hotel was incredible. The attention to every detail made you feel like you were eating at a 5 star restaurant even while sitting by the pool. Lastly, we also unfortunately had a medical emergency and the on-site doctor was so helpful in providing immediate assistance and the hotel provided so much assistance getting an ambulance and helping us with anything we needed while at the hospital. They really made us feel cared for like we were family. We are already in the process of booking our next trip back!

This was our first visit and we loved it! The property was spectacular, the staff super helpful and friendly, and great on-site restaurants. The seafood at Salerno was unbelievable! We ordered shrimp by weight and got 1kg and it was enough to feed 5 of us! It was cooked to perfection. Also tried the red snapper, grilled on the BBQ, so fresh and tasty. They also have a kid's menu in case you have kids that don't like seafood. You can reserve poolside cabanas for free and pay to reserve beach cabanas but it comes with 2 free drinks. Everything was also reasonably priced for a luxury resort. We are definitely making this our new go-to place to stay.

We stayed here for a few nights in the Haven Suite and it was so beautiful! The property is awesome, staff is great, pool service is very attentive, and the food was delicious. The room was also super cool with local decor and motif which I loved. The suites have private pools with trees between the rooms and the beach so it provides some privacy. The staff was very helpful and gave us a room upgrade based on our status. Breakfast is delicious and was included with our stay. Delicious choice of pastries, options like omelets and chilaquiles, and fresh squeezed juices were all stellar! The restaurants on the property are also delicious for dinner. One of them is south/southeast Asian and the other is Mexican. Both were very tasty and had great service. The beach didn’t look like the most swim friendly due to the lack of beach chairs and umbrellas but the pool was definitely more so the “place to be”. There were coconut cocktails on one of the days and a fresh made sushi bar by the pool, cool ideas to give guests a mix of options. We will definitely be back to this hotel and had a great time!
