★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is not a religious site like Monte Albàn. It is thought that some important people lived here. The sight is in development by the State. A long up-hill walk from the parking lot. No museum. You can easily see this site and Monte Albàn in one day. If you only have time for one then Monte Albàn should be your choice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Only giving it one star because it was closed today (Sunday) even though hours listed say it was open. So check before you make the trip.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice archeological site worth visiting! Not many people are there and entrance is free. Best way to get there is to take a colectivo from downtown ("red taxi", 10 M$ per person) to Santa Maria and walk up the hill where the ruins are. It's open on Saturday and Sunday and due to covid some areas are still closed unnecessarily, therefore only 4*

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worth a visit if you're also visiting Monte Alban. We were the only visitors when we went mid-day. Free entry, limited facilities. Probably better views of the surrounding area than Monte Alban.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing archeological site of the Zapotec civilization with breathtaking views. We were literally the only ones visiting and we had all the place to ourselves. No fee for entrance!
