★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fui el pasado sábado 30 de enero de 2021. Éramos un grupo de 5 personas y llegamos después de navegar el río Candelaria por aproximadamente 3 horas y estaba CERRADO. Luego de explicarle al encargado, nos permitió el acceso, pero se supone que debería estar abierto. Se trata de una zona remota, y los visitantes no deben ser muchos. En fin
I went last Saturday, January 30, 2021. We were a group of 5 people and we arrived after navigating the Candelaria River for approximately 3 hours and it was CLOSED. After explaining to the manager, he allowed us access, but it is supposed to be open. This is a remote area, and the visitors should not be many. Anyway

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Si gustas de la naturaleza, la tranquilidad, alejarte del bullicio de la ciudad y de hacer un paseo por nuestra raíces mayas, la zona arqueológica el Tigre es para ti. Ubicado en el municipio de Candelaria Campeche, a unos 60 km de la cabecera mpal. Podrás disfrutar de un espacio con historia, tranquilo y sobre todo casi virgen. La carretera está en buen estado, sin embargo te recomiendo manejes tranquilo, pues en la zona puedes encontrarte osos hormigueros, tortugas entre otros animales de la región y eso te permitirá evitar atropellarlos. Definitivamente una excelente experiencia
If you like nature, tranquility, get away from the bustle of the city and take a walk through our Mayan roots, the El Tigre archaeological zone is for you. Located in the municipality of Candelaria Campeche, about 60 km from the mpal head. You can enjoy a space with history, quiet and above all almost virgin. The road is in good condition, however I recommend you drive calmly, because in the area you can find anteaters, turtles among other animals of the region and that will allow you to avoid running over them. Definitely an excellent experience

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ BEST RUINS EVER! My husband and I have seen 67 Arqueologica ruins and this on is by far our favorite. I encourage everyone to come. We never get a guide but this time we did and our guide Sebastian pointed out several things I wouldn't have seen without his personal knowledge of the site. He is VERY patient, smart, kind and extremely helpful. The road from Palenque to Ocosingo is a tough drive so please do NOT attempt to drive at night.
