Diego led our tasting and was very generous in teaching us all about the history and varieties.
I’d suggest this place to anyone wanting to support small batch makers and wants to come away with something pretty cool

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is NOT the same liquor store as the ones on the Malecon or the “tourist” trap ones where they have mainstream tequila and WAY overprice them.
I only knew to stop by this place because the bartender at Bar La Playa recommended that I go here if I was looking for something that you can’t really get anywhere in the US or local liquor stores. Awesome recommendation.
I came in explaining what I was looking for (sipping tequila) and Angel listened and gave me several recommendations. He was really knowledge; from where the Agave is harvested to the bottling itself. I ended up with the G4 Anejo because I loved the taste of it. There are different profiles for each tequila connoisseur, but Angel helped narrow down what was best.
If you want something unique, can’t get in the US, and top of the line sipping tequila, make sure to stop by Agave Liquors.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The shop looked interesting and we were interested in learning more about tequila and mezcal, and purchasing for ourselves and as a gift. Max was very welcoming and knowledgeable. After discussing the options for tasting we decided on tasting 4 tequilas and 2 mezcals. The price was MXN 600 but then Max corrected himself and it was MXN 700 for 6 tastings. OK. The pourings were very meager but Max was entertaining and the tequilas and mezcals were very good. At the end we bought 3 bottles. After we got home I checked the price for one of the tequilas I bought and the price at my local wine/spirits in CA is SIGNIFICANTLY less. I understand that times are hard in PV for tourist businesses, but check prices before you buy from this store.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a great little boutique store that sells a range of small batch tequilas, mezcals and raicillas (as well as some other items). The staff are very knowledgeable and have tasted all the products, so they can specifically make recommendations. They also provide the option to taste in case you're not sure which one to get. They speak excellent english, and the whole experience was very pleasurable.

As a couple with little to no background in drinking tequila, mezcal, and racilla, the hosts gave us a thorough background on everything and even let us taste test a number of items. We went in expecting to maybe purchase a bottle and left with 4! It should be a must stop for all those who like tequila and are looking to bring home a taste of Mexico.

I really appreciated their sincere honesty. They also offer tequila tasting which was fantastic. They are also centrally located in the Zona Romantica area and very closed to all the local foodies. I highly recommend you pay them a visit. Excellent customer service too! Cheers
