The Mexican Space Agency (AEM) is a decentralized public body of the Mexican government, responsible for coordinating the Space Policy of Mexico in order to develop the specialists, technology and infrastructure necessary for the consolidation of the space sector in the country. The organization was created by means of the Law that created the Mexican Space Agency was approved by the Congress of the Union on April 20, 2010; promulgated by the then president of the republic, Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, on July 13, 2010; published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on July 30; and effective as of July 31.
