First time in a thermal spring and it was great. Long walk to get there so be prepared with food and water and rest unless you have a 4×4 vehicle

A really fun hot springs and a gorgeous hike down and back that rivals the much busier hikes in Zion, UT. The hike is quite an altitude loss/gain, about 1,200 vertical feet over 2 miles one way. The views are gorgeous and the springs are nice, if a tad cool for my liking.

The walk down was great. Beautiful scenery along the whole way. Unfortunately when we got to the pools they were dirty and poorly kept and looked so unnatural in contrast to the natural setting surrounding them. The walk back up is quite challenging, uphill the whole way and will take you about an hour/hour 1/2 if you are up for it. So make sure you are in good shape!

A warm spring beautifully located between mountains. It is about an hour of hike downhill to get there but you can use the shuttle service to get up again.

Worth the effort but be prepared to hike Fantastic natural pools and a hike worth doing if you’re in Creel. We did the hike up and down the canyon this morning and really enjoyed the experience. It’s not dangerous at all if you walk but DO NOT attempt to drive down past the car park area if you do not have a 4x4 or quad-bike even though they do now have barriers if the most dangerous places. We walked from where the road turns to cobbles after being dropped off by two locals we met in Creel (they also came and picked us up from the same spot). You will see the first car park on the left here where the cobbled road begins. Note that if you have a normal car then you can continue past this point to another car park a little further on where there is a kiosk and gate stating that the road then begins to get dangerous from that point onwards. It took us 50 minutes to get to the thermal pools from our start point and we walk pretty fast. It took us 1 hour and 10 mins to get back to the first car park. The hike up is not that difficult but it is steep and there’s not much shade when it’s hot so be warned. We have seen on the reviews that you cannot buy water etc but there was a raramuri lady selling bottles of water and coke at the pools when we were there. That said, I’d still recommend bringing your own towels, water, snacks etc as it’s pretty remote. There is no phone coverage at all for miles around. The pools were relatively quiet today and only a couple of Mexican families were there splashing around and having fun. Pools are like warm but it was nice after the hike that they weren’t too hot. Scenery is stunning and makes the trip worth it. I would try and get a taxi to drive you there and pick you up approx 3 hours later as the tours are insanely expensive. We got lucky meeting the kind ladies on a tour of the valleys etc the day before but I’m sure a taxi in town would take you much cheaper than a formal tour and you gain nothing from having a guide as there is one road in and one road out so you can’t get lost! We wanted to hike up but it’s worth mentioning there were no quad bikes available to take us up had we wanted to take this option. A family kindly gave us a lift at the top back to the entry kiosk and generally I think anyone with a truck would help if you signalled them. Enjoy!

Awesome hot spring in nestled in the bottom of the canyon. The pools were very warm but not hot. Enjoyed the afternoon in them. We rode our motorcycles all the way down and had no problems. Cars or Vans might struggle a bit as the road is quite rough!

You can take a van down to the bottom of the natural spring water or walk and catch picture perfect views of you being in the canyon. Warm water some deep pools. A great spot for the kids.
