Ahau Tulum - 77760 Tulum

While the hotel grounds and beautiful and the rooms very nice, the service and follow from the management is terrible. Think twice before staying here. We booked our room months in advance and upon arrival were told our reserved room was not ready - seems the prior guest had caused significant damage in the room (we learned this later). They offered is an upgrade to a nicer room but we’re told we would have to change rooms the next day. We came to this hotel to relax and unwind - we did not want to change rooms in the middle of our stay so we asked to simply have a room that we could stay in for the three nights we planned to to be there. They would not provide us another option that to take the upgrade and then move the next day. We were told the move would be early in the day and would smooth and on time. That was not the case and we essentially waited around all day to make the change. Not once did the hotel management come to us to let us know when the move would take place and every we hour we were told a later time for the move but then at that time we received no updates or information. We ended up losing the entire day waiting around for the move and finally at 4pm were notified the other room was ready. We were told all of our bags would be moved but an hour later our bags had not been moved. Once again we had to chase down a manager vs. anyone following up with us. Being that we lost a full day of our time there, we requested not to pay for the first night. At the time we were told that there was no one on site that could authorize the free night. For the next 2 days we continued to follow up and follow up yet no one came to us for an update. Finally on our last night we were able to meet with the GM who agreed to refund us our first night. We completed some refund paperwork and checked out expecting a refund within a few days. Over the course of the next 2 months I contacted the hotel over a dozen times without any success and receiving our refund. Do not trust the word of the management there! They will blow you off over and over and once you depart you will receive the same terrible service. We have been to Tulum 10 times and I assure you there are many other hotels that do actually provide great service and do what they say. Try Coco Tulum - we have stayed there many times and it is a fantastic hotel honest and trustworthy employees. STAY AWAY FROM AHAU TULUM!

Spent the day at the beach club and the service, music, and ambience were great. The drinks were good, but the food was just ok. I look forward to returning, especially to chill while listening to great music and watching the waves.

Beautiful sculpture located at the entrance of ahau hotel in Tulum. So connected to the feminine energy. Even if we had to pay US$3. And make a line to take a few pictures it was worth it! It seems to me that she was alive. A great experience! ?

Me and my friend stopped for one drink. The place is beautiful and we asked to seat outside but the host informed us about beach club fees $100 per person. We stayed inside but the server guy name Jesus offered to us great deal $100 per person all included (food and drinks) We decided to stay and enjoy the beautiful view and order couple drinks and dinner and dessert. The bill for the end was $280!!! WOW!!!! No deal!!! I feel really disappointed, definitely don’t believe what they try to offer you. So many great places in Tulum with better costumer service. Do not fall for scam!

This place is so far up it’s own arse it’s incredible. Tried to go in off the beach for a drink at the bar in the middle of the day, loads of empty tables only to be told it was a minimum 100 dollars per person to sit there. We said we literally wanted a single drink but were told no. I could understand more if the place was really busy. Went next door to Delek Tulum, had 2 drinks and were offered a sun bed whilst we drank.

We enjoyed the hotel during the day, the lobby is very relaxing and the staff is friendly. The only reason why I'm not giving it a 5-star rating is because we could not sleep due to the next door party noise going on until 4am. If you are looking for a relaxing experience I'd recommend either to avoid weekends. Drinks were good, and it is well positioned in the town with a bunch of interesting places to visit.

Amazing vibes - 10/10 would recommend. The beach is fantastic and the bar service was exceptional. Also, they have a pool which is nice change from a lot of the other hotels on the strip. Jair was the best!! He helped us with reservations, drink orders, club spots, and recommendations with what to do. Thank you and we will be coming back! Highly recommend!!

We dined at the beach front restaurant and we loved everything! The food was delicious (although a bit pricey), service was to the point, and the overall vibe was relaxing. -1 star because the beach club is not worth the 1000 pesos/person they charge - there are only few beach beds, which are poorly maintained.
