WOW! This was one of the best experiences of my life, swimming up close and personal with sea turtles! This was a dream experience come true and it was greatly facilitated by the wonderful folks at the Akumal Dive Shop. Raquel is amazing and made sure we got a great price and guide, as locals work freelance to guide visitors. Tony was our guide and was so friendly and knowledgeable about the sea creatures, he made our experience wonderful. You should never touch wildlife in any environment but it was such a bonus that the turtles here were chill and comfortable coming somewhat close. It made for spectacular views and the sensation that we were swimming with the turtles as one of them. Tony also made sure we knew to move away when turtles decided to come up for air, as they need to breath and can get scared and hurt if humans approach too closely. We really appreciated his concern and care for the wildlife and making sure they are protected. I would highly recommend going on a tour through this group and asking for Raquel and Tony!

Really a shame how much they rip off tourists, staff are so pushy with tours for snorkelling (which you can just do yourself for free without a bully life jacket) they charge everyone who is a tourist to enter the beach (which in mexico all beaches are federal public areas) - do yourselves a favour and use Google to find a free entrance to the free beach. Don't give these scammers a penny.

Swimming and snorkeling with turtles!! This experience is once in a lifetime. Our guide Rebecca was really patient and helpful. My girlfriend and I both dont know swimming, so we did the snorkeling near shore. It was like a private experience for both of us and price was so reasonable. For my prescription I got new snorkel mask that was awesome! We saw many fishes, small and huggeee turtles. It was epic to say the least. We got lockers, shower and beach access till 430PM. Overall must do. Contact them over email or call and go directly to the shop. Both cash and credit cards accepted.

We had a Snorkeling Tour in the morning and it was a wonderful experience! Everybody at the Dive Center is very friendly and helpfull. They usually only go by small groups and they try to maintain the evenironment of the turtles, this is great. We saw 7 turtles and different fish and had enough time to watch them. Thank you for this unique experience!

We took a cab from our hotel to the Akumal Dive Shop for a snorkeling tour. The Dive Shop was very responsive in booking and booked us in for a day with good visibility. Great guide, nice facility, amazing snorkeling. Easy to catch a cab again in town after our tour. Highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing! After a cancellation from another shop, I booked a cenote dive an hour before it left. It turned out to be private, for the same price I would have paid in a group elsewhere. Gear was great, the dives were stunning, and a particular shout out to David who was a lot of fun and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with me. Hope to see you again soon!

I 100% recommend Akumal Dive Shop for those visiting the area. We did snorkeling and had a great time. Our guide was helpful with identifying all the species of fish. We got such great shots of the sea turtles and I was so excited to have seen them. Definitely a surreal experience. The dive shop also gives you a wristband so you have access to the beach all day which was very nice. Afterwards we grabbed some lunch at the restaurant by there and shared some frozen cocktails. All in all a great day with great experiences thanks to Akumal Dive Shop.

On our most recent trip to Mexico, I completed my certification dives with David from ADS. He was a great instructor who was extremely knowledgeable, patient and a genuine nice guy. Everyone else at the dive shop was very friendly and helpful as well. They rent snorkel and dive equipment, fill tanks and have guided dives also. All of their equipment seemed to be in great condition. Their facility had lockers for rent, toilets, showers and changing rooms. They also sell diving / snorkel equipment and some cool clothing. All of their products and services seemed to be very fairly priced. This is a beautiful area to dive in and the folks at ADS make it easy and affordable to enjoy.
