Un artesano originario de la comunidad de San Martín Tilcajete ubicado en el hermoso estado de Oaxaca, orgulloso de mis raíces provengo de una familia artesana y soy el hijo séptimo de 12 hermanos, siendo mis padres Isaura Melchor Gómez y Celedonio Fuentes Méndez pioneros de una artesanía reconocida internacionalmente como ALEBRIJES.

Feliciano, gives a detailed explanation of how his family continues the tradition the different types of wood, paints and the reason why they use the designs. Great cultural lesson and you can paint your own Alebrijes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely fantastic experience. Alebrijes are the fantastical animal creatures in Mexico made of wood mostly. Mr. Fuentes can use a machete to create so many things. He is incredible. We learned so much. I didn’t really care about Alebrijes to be honest until we visited this amazing workshop and learned about the delicate work of Mr. Fuentes.
