Allegro Cozumel - 77600 San Miguel de Cozumel

We have been to Cozumel 3 times. The Allegro was not that great. The diving my husband said ; was the same reef each dive, and same area each time. The boat was packed each time. The dive shop canceled the night dive, and kept our money. Note: We paid with credit card, but my husband needed bigger tanks. The only way he could have the bigger tanks was to pay in cash for the bigger tanks.. The dive shop gave him a paper voucher to use in the dive shop for canceling the night dive , refund from purchasing the extra tanks . Everything so expensive you couldn't use the voucher to use in the dive shop. Maybe 4 choices of items to choose from . Each day was a different price on the items !! It was $70.00 they kept. They did the same thing to his brother. Which was another $70.00 . Would not reschedule another night dive.. Rip off. The food was not great. Customer service was not great either. To get into the restaurants they advertise they claimed was all full. That was a joke. We finally got into two with alot of stopping at the front desk to see if they had any openings. The drinks was only 1 beer choice, and sugary drink choices. Lots of tip jars ( even though they say there is not ) . I would never go back. ( Especially the diving part) I don't want to say everything was horrible. Our room were taken care of, and the pool and activities at the pool was fun. Ocean was beautiful, and the sunset amazing. Just very disappointed this time. Like I said....been to Cozumel 3 times. This resort was not what I expected. The diving can improve . Especially, taking our money ! I give it one Star ! ? Another note. The Allegro is far out. So your taxi ride will be expensive.

Nice resort. It will be warm in the rooms, AC is a water circulation system so don't expect it to be like home. Not a problem for us but we brought my wife's parents and the heat without a spot with AC to cool down was a little tough for them. Our only real complaint for us (without the older adults) was the service, no comradery or small talk even if you are the only one there. Kind of rude at times also. Food at the resort was pretty good. Take a taxi to Alberto's. It's a super FUN bar and grill and only about 10 minutes from the resort. Downtown area was good as always. Cozumel is a nice area.

The location and stuff are excellent/5 stars!! Gorgeous view!! See pics. Food I gave 2.5 stars. The breakfast and dinner (see pictures)are okay, some food flavor were bland honestly. But the Lunch is BAD… there are few restaurants crossed street of the resort, they are all pretty good!! I booked superior/standard room, I gave 1 star. There are a lot of issues, such as mold smell room, rusted/gross three mirrors, flooded bathroom after shower due to half glass door, no vent in the bathroom… I got upgrade to premium room with ocean view (5 stars!!) after spoke to the front desk manager. I pretty much got VIP service afterwords.The experience manager Astrid is so awesome!!

The staff are great - friendly and attentive. The food is definitely their weakest link although it was hit or miss. There was some great food mixed in with lots of mediocre food - but for the price, we got what we paid for. Rooms are on the small side but clean and comfortable. There's an occasional sewer or mold smell in rooms. Layout of place is nice and easy to navigate. Maintenance of facility was good. It wasn't overly crowded.

The rooms were simple and I preferred the food by the pool. What really made this trip great was all of the employees. From David and Jonathan to so many more they made it a community where you didn’t want to leave. Doesn’t matter if you are more a beach bum or an active vacationer the people are all so friendly and make it an amazing place to visit. If you are in debate I recommend this resort simply for the people. (The pools and beach are also wonder!)

When I booked I knew that this would not be a luxury resort. I only expected the type of room I booked to be clean and everything in working order. I booked a Superior Premium Room , ground level with 2 beds. I received one upstairs with only one bed and a broken toilet. After really complaining they found me another room. This room had its share of problems. The AC did not get cooler than 75 to 77 degrees during the day. The ceiling had a bad leak from the AC drainage pipe being clogged. I reported the problem and they fixed the leak, but the AC did not cool properly for the entire stay. My clothes in the room remained damp due to the heat and humidity. It was miserable. The buffet dining room was very hot and humid however the food was satisfactory. We had problems getting reservations to the specialty dining restaurants. After really having to complain to multiple people, we finally got a reservation to the Italian room but could not get access to the Asian room. The staff tried to make up for it by bringing the Asian food to the hot buffet room. The waiters really tried to compensate us, but we should not of had to put up so much of a fuss to get something we paid for. My daughter and her family came and also had problems . She had trouble with her toilet and getting reservations to specialty dining. She booked the Allegro because it had a kids club and a good kids pool. The kids club was never open for the entire stay and some of the water toys were broken in the pool. The working staff was very friendly that is why I gave a 1 rating. I would not recommend this resort. I could list other things, but I am tired of typing.

Nice resort. Facilities were very nice and clean. The cleaning staff were very thorough and pleasant! Enjoyed the food service and the food staff and bartenders were excellent!! I would really like to mention outstanding server Carlos Perez and Felix and Omar?? I gave 4 stars because the store was disappointing. At least 1 Necessary item was 10 times the normal price and they are 16 kilometers from town.

The resort was nice, the bar tenders were attentive especially Louis. Food wasn't great but wasn't bad either. I'd go again if the price were right. The bed in our room was extra extra firm so be prepared for that. We talked with others at the resort who came to the similar conclusion. Bathroom was dingy and the shower extension had electrical tape holding it into place but we worked with it. If you're wanting something with beautiful rooms stay at the Occidental next door to this resort. The rooms there were amazing.
