Maroon yourself in Oaxaca's first and only tiki bar. Tropical drinks, calypso music, birds chirping, waves lapping upon the shore. Sail away in a canoe for two or hunker down over a scorpion bowl in the tiki hut. Behind the imposing adobe walls of this early 18th century historical home hides an otherworldly oasis.  The drinks are heady, mysterious concoctions; flaming bowls of light and dark rums, indigenous fruits, fresh juices, and secret tinctures that will quench the thirst of any pirate or scurvy dog who steps through these doors and into a Polynesian paradise that time forgot.

There's only two Tiki bars in Mexico so make sure you visit this one if you get a chance. Amazing drinks. Strong drinks. Super cool aesthetic. Friendly staff. Some of them speak English as well and the menus have both Spanish and English on them. Met the owners last night. Super super cool people. Ended up hanging out with them all night. Very friendly and hospitable. All in all, my favorite place and best experience in Oaxaca. Will be back again and again.

the main bartender is far from hospitable. was incredibly rude to my friends. you have to walk through another outdoor bar to get to aloha however you are not allowed to bring your drink into aloha- even if you are ordering one from the bar in there.

Could not find it. I was at the right address location, but there is no sign or marked door. A couple reviews says it is hidden. We even asked a couple of locals within a block and they had not heard of it, and the waiter at the place at the corner never heard of it! Everyone had to go to google maps where it is marked as being there. There is a different bar at the location, but wasn't a tiki bar.

It's a cool hidden spot, with good cocktails. Only issue is that bartenders are arrogant and it feels like they are doing you a huge favour. I can understand that customers can be annoying and stupid sometimes, but putting up with them is part of job.

Aloha Oaxaca was certainly the highlight of our trip. Wonderfully tacky tiki atmosphere and friendly people make this an incredibly fun place to spend an evening, or two, or three, or four. Talented, passionate bartenders, and a beautifully curated collection of spirits- Mezcal and otherwise, not to mention the mixed drinks; the freshest Painkiller I have ever had. The fresh fruit just begs to be made into tiki drinks. Until I’m back again, I’ll be dreaming of Aloha Oaxaca.

Good drinks. A bit expensive. It's been dead every time I went. Even on Friday and Saturday night.

Aloha Oaxaca was a lot of fun. The bar owner (Aaron) told me when i got there that "the drinks are strong and the bartenders are stronger." ? I can't speak to the strength of the bartenders, but the drinks were strong (and great). They also have a fantastic Mezcal tasting room in the back that just adds to the experience.

Chill vibes, excellent mezcal, good times... This place is a bit of a 2-in-1. It's a tiki bar out front, and a (small) "mezcal speakeasy" in the back. Mind you, if you get there before 7pm, it's basically only the mezcal speakeasy (though you can hang out in the totally chill tiki area with your mezcal). This, I highly recommend, especially for those long slow afternoons when you really don't have anything better to do! Oh, the people are nice, and the (self-sourced) mezcal is *excellent*!!!
