Amaite restaurant - 77310 Holbox

I had my birthday dinner here with a group of friends from the moment we were seat everything was spectacular and every dish was delicious. our server Ismael Went above and beyond to make my birthday dinner special.

Great marinated-only (not parboiled) shrimp ceviche and tuna maguro nigiri sushi I also loved the spicy mayo sushi roll. Poke bowl was pretty-looking but not as great. Awesome baked potato! Lime soup and Mayan fish tacos (only 2) were acceptable. Happy hour caipirinha was a watery disappointment, but mojito was ok and black Russian was great. Upstairs seating had fun music, not too loud, but ocean view is better downstairs. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean restroom for the beach.

Would not recommend! The location is amazing but service and food is mediocre and does not justify the high prices. We had to pay €7 (!!) for a bottle of water. Furthermore, they add a 15% service fee to the bill (please note that you do NOT have to pay this amount).

Extremely bad for this expensive prices!! They don't even care to clear the seagrass as other cheaper restaurants do, there is a big pile in front. 9 USD for a Guacamole of the size of about 2 tablespoons with mediocre quality. Cocktails watered down. They take away your plates when you haven't finished eating without asking! They add 15% tip automatically to the bill, so be careful! Avoid this place at any cost, higher prices doesn't necessarily mean better quality! Horrible

Genuinely incredible. The food is amazing, we ate here so many times. The quality of the food is top notch. Scallops and tuna steak were the best I’ve ever had.

Top of the list in Holbox, a beach restaurant with an amazing view, a beautiful little dock with some tables. The food is really really good, fresh fish, shrimps, octopus, and they have a variety of dishes from seafood to meat and pasta. The service is pretty good as well. Something remarkable about this place is the mixology, they have amazing drinks, honestly they are bomb hahah if you go to Holbox is a must ??

I have to say that Im not really sure why this place has an average rating. On our first night in Isla Holbox we followed the tactic of walking around and sitting at the first place that catches our eye. Amaite ended up being our choice since it won us over due to it’s beachfront location and romantic atmosphere. There were actually some tables on a small dock, yet those were all occupied so we sat at one of their tables outdoors. There was live music playing on that day and the place looked fairly busy yet not overly packed. We were very happy with the service of our waiter and with the quality of the food. Me and my girlfriend are very picky with regards to food. She got the Seafood Mixed Grill for 1 person and I got the steak fajitas. Both were super tasty and we were both very happy with our choice! If you’re struggling to decide on a place to eat, then definitely give it a try! ??
