Amaka Calma Riviera Tulúm - 77760 Tulum

SCAM ALERT: RUN AWAY! Arrogant and unpleasant boss. The whole hotel is damp and smells musty. Our loft was really dirty and the humidity in the air was unbreathable. We asked for a refund to change hotel and they refused. We asked for a refund to change our room and they refused. We had to tell them we were going to post pictures and videos on social networks to get them to change our room. The right side of the hotel is the worst. They changed our room one night later and twice. All the rooms were in the same condition. We tested 3 lofts in 4 nights and it was really unbreathable and dangerous for our health. Mold was everywhere (sofa, curtains, walls, shower, beds, hammocks). It was an infection. The owner didn't want to refund us to change hotel. He laughed at us. Two mothers with children also asked for a refund to leave the hotel, which was also refused. We were very disappointed with this hotel and would not recommend it at all. We have photos and videos and will be making a complaint to booking. As soon as we find these photos in our old phone we will post them on google. I invite you to read the google comments below which say the same thing. Disastrous. We stayed at the hotel mid January 2022. I should point out that the booking was in my partner's name and not mine.

Great place to stay, Fast Wifi and super friendly staff. They helped us with everything even after our stay at their hotel. Would 100% recommend them and would love to stay there again. The location is also pretty convenient (a bit far from the beach if you don't have a ride, but close to restaurants and some shops.

Ideal placement in the heart of La Valleta. Several great restaurants to walk to in the surrounding area. Stayed in the Luxury Apartment with Plunge pool, and was impressed with every aspect of the room. Very calm spot the few nights we were there. Staff was friendly and attentive. They clean the main pool and the private plunge pools each morning.

This hotel was the absolute cherry on top of a fantastic vacation. The property is beautiful and so well taken care of. The pool & garden make for the most gorgeous spaces for relaxing. Coffee and cookies are served every morning by the pool, usually by no later than 7 am which is perfect for an early riser like myself. Th apartments are beautifully decorated, the beds are comfy, and the location is supreme. You are within a short walk of great local eateries and not too far a walk from anything you might need. The staff is what makes this place a true gem. My stay ended up being extended quite a bit once I (unfortunately) tested positive for covid. Amaka's staff helped me with runs to the pharmacy, arranging for transportation, and attaining in-house testing, and later finding a place to get the health certificate to return home. This place is perfect for relaxation, at a very friendly price, and quick access to nightlife and the dreamy beaches of Tulum. I recommend it 10/10.

We stayed for a week over our honeymoon and loved the location as well as the phenomenal staff! The room was equipped with everything we needed and more, including a hammock :) We especially loved the view of the courtyard with many birds to look at as well as the peaceful atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Awesome place! It was great to get out of the routine and enjoy privacy and relaxation. The staff truly goes above and beyond to accommodate your needs. Great bars and restaurants within walking distance and a quick taxi ride to party central if you want the best of both worlds while on vacation. Highly recommend!

Amaka is a beautiful hotel nestled in the pueblo of Tulum City. The hotel grounds and rooms are absolutely gorgeous, just like the photographs if not more beautiful! There are lovely hammocks all over the hotel, including one in the room which I especially loved! The staff are very helpful! About a 30 min bike ride to the beach (a beautiful scenic route & great exercise) and close by to local shops and restaurants.

My husband and I stayed at Amaka Calma for 8 nights in March. It was a beautiful property with a lovely calm atmosphere. The room was nice and clean and the beds were firm and comfy. The mini kitchen came in handy as there is no restaurant attached to this property. The trees around the property attract the toucans, they are very interesting to watch. The pool was refreshing and the calm music was so relaxing .The staff for the most part is very friendly and welcoming! Thank you for a lovely stay.
