Wonderful solo road trip in the Yucatán!!!! Good experience with American rent a car! They are very professional and so nice!! Thank you to Alberto for the nice picture ????

We had a great experience. Albert Augusto helped us from the first moment and we could communicate with him during our trip. But one thing that is good to know, don’t book your car upfront your trip because the insurance you pick online is not granted for this company and you have to pay extra on arrival. So if you can rent your car just here at the office everything will be okay. Also their 24 hours service responded in 5 minutes after we texted them, good to know if you are having trouble that they are able to contact. We drove 2000km and had no issues with the car at all, the car works perfectly.

A smooth experience throughout, although we did not get the car we reserved they didn’t have it available when we arrived but a suitable replacement was available. Alberto was nice however insisted we left a review as we hired the car - I prefer to review after the experience. When we returned we were met by Anabell who was super friendly and sorted our check out well. We got the full insurance for our trip as would be recommended whilst in Mexico

We rented a car from here at the last minute. RENT DIRECTLY FROM THEIR WEBSITE to avoid questions and issues about insurancr. I saw in the reviews that those who have negative experiences, mostly rented from third party websites. We rented directly from them and most insurance was included with the price. The car we rented was brand new and fairly clean. The staff was super straightforward with everything. We added the additional insurance(theft and tires/windows) because it was peace of mind for about $50 over 3 days. Drop off was easy and pretty hands off.

Ana and Lupita were absolutely wonderful! We had no problems during pickup and drop-off. They even honored the price I found online for the vehicle we rented. They helped me when we were running late for our drop-off since we needed to fill up our tank. I highly recommend them to everyone and we will definitely be renting with them again!

My first car rental experience in Mexico and it went as smoothly as it can! After doing tons of research I settled on America Car Rental, and I’m glad I did. Alberto was awesome to help with any questions/concerns I had. The price quoted online was honored and the car was ready to pick up on-time. No issues were encountered, and deposit retuned! Will rent again and recommend this company to anyone!

Pretty awful experience with this company. They are predatory. First problem was the car was 2 hrs late to be ready, which is fine if the management is apologetic and remedy it with a refund for the time or offer a different car. The manger, Alberto, was rude and unapologetic about this. Things went down hill from here. I booked this through Expedia and somehow mis clicked a box to select liability insurance. I did not book the insurance at the time I finalized the booking online. Alberto delighted in charging me more than double the original price of the rental for their “basic” insurance package. The insurance works out to be almost $50 per day and they do not allow you to use credit card insurance. I’ve complained to both Expedia and the company HQ on WhatsApp but have received zero response from America. Not even a credit for the delay with the car. Terrible customer service. Alberto was extremely rude throughout, and what was a disappointing and irritating experience was made extremely unpleasant by his attitude. The icing on the cake was the car! It’s covered in damage. I’m dreading returning it at the end of the rental. I’m sure they’ll find a way to make it a difficult and unpleasant process.

Very good service! Alberto takes all the time for you and he even offered us a ride to our next destination when we returned the car. Very friendly and speaks very good English. Also he was available on Whatsapp all the time if we had any questions or issues. Note!! : Make sure to book directly with America Car Rental and not through a comparison website (third party) because in that way you still need to buy a Full Coverage insurance with America Car Rental.
