Con su construcción podemos ver reflejada la importancia que en aquellos tiempos se le daba al uso y el desarrollo de los ferrocarriles en las primeras décadas del siglo XX. En la actualidad podemos verlo como un punto de referencia urbano por la calidad que hay en su construcción y además es un excelente ejemplar de la arquitectura moderna mexicana. J	Jorge Morales on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ANTIGUA ESTACIÓN DEL FERROCARRIL Cultura e Historia Edificios de Epoca La llegada del Ferrocarril a Durango significó para la Ciudad su ingreso al proyecto de desarrollo de nación impulsado por Porfirio Díaz, y además de la llegada de un nuevo estilo arquitectónico. La estación levantada en piedra en un estilo ecléctico afrancesado, con una gran influencia inglesa, inicio su construcción en junio de 1918 y fue puesta en servicio siete años después. En cuanto a su elegante ornamentación se puede admirar el gran cancel de entrada, que se dispone de un majestuoso vano de medio punto el cual recibe en el claro del arco un gran vitral, que representa la totalidad de las líneas de ferrocarril en operación en la República, así como las líneas entonces proyectadas. Fue el 1ero de octubre de 1892 llegó el primer ferrocarril con la primera locomotora y el 16 de ese mismo mes, arribó el primer tren de pasajeros de la línea. En el exterior queda aún la maquina de vapor y el monumento a Felipe Pescador quien fue Director General de los ferrocarriles nacionales, originario de Canatlán Durango. Se comparte el estacionamiento con una dependencia estatal. Buena atención, precios justos. Los viernes, sábado y domingo tiene opción de buffet. Ubicado en una avenida rápida.
