Delicious, clean, accessible price and very nice music, Mexican food, you can eat on the sidewalk or inside the premises, they lack periquera chairs for children but in general very good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is an established restaurant chain with locations in several other Mexican towns. This was formerly the Havoenda Penal which was on desparate need of being rescued. They have an upbeat lively atmosphere with occasional live shows and the place is very Mexico. I think this would be an ideal location for groups of any type. Traditional cuisine, full service bar and good customer service. I didn't meet anyone working who spoke English, but don't let that stop you from going. There is limited non-handicap parking, public restrooms, children's boosters and high chairs, plus a menu just for the little gringos. The public bus stops right out front. From old Town and the north hotel zone take any bus destined for La Desembocada after leaving Ixtapa ask the bus driver to let you out at Cantaritos. Just past El Penal on the left. Fare is 10 pesos and busses run only to 11pm in season and 10 pm off season. An Uber or indriver will run about 350 pesos from Old Town and about 275 from the North hotel zone. No reservations are necessary. Usually open 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm except Sunday, however, they are adjusting the hours of operation soon and l will try and update those once they do. Go check them out.
