Aqua Safari Inn - 77600 San Miguel de Cozumel

Horrible dive operation. They ruined a few days of my vacation because they are not organized. Being left on the pier after confirming that I would be picked up in person was not part of my vacation plan. Overall a lazy operation that is borderline unsafe. Dive with one of the other operators on the island, there are many.

A textbook example of why you should not choose the dive shop closest to the main road. While the staff are friendly enough, the manager is rather rude. Their equipment is what you'd expect from a run-of-the-mill dive shop. Their boat is big and slow, so if you want to get to the dive sites fast, hook up with a dive shop using a smaller boat that travels at twice the speed. I was told that the dive location would be decided by all the divers at the start of the dive. Once we pulled away, however, I was told that the sites were already picked and we were provided with no opportunity to suggest alternatives. The second dive site was the least interesting I had ever seen, consisting of sparse coral outcrops between sandy slopes. As I was diving alone, I was assigned a dive buddy. I thought I was lucky because I was teaming up with one of the guides. Curiously, he told me to just go on ahead as he had to look after the other divers. So, I was on my own. The leaders did no pre-checks with each diver, counting on them to look after themselves. There are much better dive shops in town.

The location, the setup, the rental gear, and the dives themselves were great. Unfortunately, the customer service wasn't that great, and made a two tank dive turn into waiting around for half a day, followed by a one tank dive. They are safe, and definitely follow the rules, which is nice, and their instructors are knowledgeable. I will most likely not be visiting them again, as I no longer trust that what I am told on the phone will actually take place.

This place was perfect for the price. Very centrally located. I loved it. The AC worked very well and was quiet. The people were all very nice. The WiFi wasn’t great, they gave us a small fridge most rooms don’t come with one, and the only other negative was the bathroom door is a thin slatted wooden door do not a ton of privacy. We lost two towels and they charged us $24 USD which is a little crazy but whatever. I shouldn’t have lost them. Ha. Overall I’d highly recommend this place if you travel like me and only sleep in your hotel. If you go to Cozumel for the hotels you’re doing it wrong. Go scuba diving or snorkeling or rent a scooter or Jeep at HTL, I think that’s the name. Explore the other side of the island it’s beautiful!

Located downtown across from the water. Dive shop in the same building. Free wifi. The room was very minimal - you get what you pay for, and a few ants too. You can hear everything outside from in the room, from cars, to people speaking downstairs.

We had a great experience, comfortable big bed, AC, access from the street. You can book your snorkeling trip right here, leablve your stuff throughout the day with staff's permission. Very friendly and helpful people too, especially seňora Flores.
