We went to San Martin Tilcajete and, while a beautiful place, demand vs. Production has caused the prices for nice pieces to skyrocket! We went to probably 4 different workshops there and the prices were insane. We found cheaper alebrijes in oaxaca de juarez but the quality was less than desirable. We went back to Aripo 3 times before deciding it was absolutely the best option. Beautiful pieces for about half the price of anywhere else! Among the many deals available there my favorite was a 6"tall bee that cost 350MX. Similar bees elsewhere were WELL over 1000MX.

Just to be clear it is a store but they have an incredible collection of goods from artist across Oaxaca! It's an easy place to spend money and the value is unbeatable for the prices. I spent three weeks shopping for a nice brimmed hat and finally found one of the right fit and quality here. Add to all of this friendly and helpful service and you have a first class place! Gracias!
