★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The main attraction is the church, they have different rituals that involve "cleaning" a person with a chicken. There is no video or photography allowed inside.
The town square is nice.
The people are not so nice. They are greedy. We tried "helping" a couple of kids with some shoes but then it turned into a literal grab and run. The people were in it, they charged us about $90,000 pesos which comes out to about $4,500. They held us against our own will until we paid up. There is no law enforcement in this town to help. The people are the law and what they say, goes.
If you do decide to go, heed the warnings and do not try to help these people. They will take advantage of the situation.
