★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This ATM stole my debit card info and my mom’s debit card info and tried to withdraw money from Indonesia. This is the only ATM we used both our cards during the entire trip, so I’m 100% sure the cards were stolen here. Not cool.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The ATM where you can withdraw pesos was empty/showed an error three days in a row. Next to that ATM there was an ATM where you can only withdraw US dollars, but this was very expensive! They charged 8 USD + 8% commission per transaction.
There is another ATM close by at a money exchange office (where you also only can withdraw US dollars) but that one was even more expensive, 8 USD + 13% commission. So if you want to withdraw 50 USD they would charge you 64.50 USD.
You can better get a taxi to the city center of Tulum and use the ATMs over there, most of them charge only a fixed fee of 30 pesos (1.70 USD).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Costs 174 pesos instead of the normal 30ish, I continued anyway and wish I hadn't because after waiting 10 minutes the machine crashed and didn't give me my card back, went back the next morning and they told me they couldn't do anything until the afternoon. Thanks BBVA, never going to one of their atms again
