★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Only ATM in Bacalar that actually has cash. But go on weekdays! There’s still a 25% chance of it being empty if it’s a weekend day though

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It worked well when I went there. It is placed inside the grocery store, which makes safe to get some cash. I'm with Wells Fargo, and the bank charged me five boxes and the local bank, Santander 2.50 more.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Foreign cash cards beware : Santander bank charges a 6% on whatever the exchange rate against mexican peso , on top of the atm fee. You are better off exchanging cash if you have it , or paying w credit card where possible. Bankers sure know how to gyp you at every turn !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ATM inside Oxxo. I have Revolut card, so I withdraw mexican pesos directly without any bank commisions for exchange currency. They just charged 34 pesos for transaction...better than driving to 40 mins to Chetumal to Casa del cambio. good job both Revolut card and this ATM. :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do not use this ATM. It stole my info and charged me six times for an amount close to $900 usd. Google Maps doesn’t show any other ATMs but there are some in town.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited yesterday (04.11.2021). Revolut card not working (Visa, MasterCard) and showing "temporary error" at the end of the process each time. Worked with normal debit bank card, but its the Revolut that I want to use during foreign trips, not the regular card that has much worse exchange rates. There were many people from France at the same time at Oxxo - two people in front of me in the queue failed to withdraw any money.
Nonetheless, the only working ATM at the Bacalar at the moment, because both of the ATMs in the center are currently demolished.
