Autel Rio Inn - 26000 Piedras Negras

The location on the map is incorrect!! This hotel is located at Padre de las Casas and the corner of Teran! Just follow your nose the smells of the bakery right across the street!! lol I stay here when visiting my dentist -- one block up the road... The rooms are very nice and have a fridge. It is a very tranquil place and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The larger suite (which I usually get) is about $60 a night (throughout 2015). I will give a more updated price on my next visit this Saturday (Feb 27th, 2016). Security here, especially for my car, has never been a problem. I usually park my car there and walk when going "downtown" -- just two blocks away. Everything is very close by and the Panadería across the street is awesome! Especially first thing in the morning -- with fresh hot coffee. Also, their breakfast bar is fully stocked with all the local fare! The breakfast tacos here are awesome!

Not bad for a downtown hotel in a border town. Other guests tend to be noisy, but once they settle down it's OK. Good buffet breakfast.

I have stayed here on 2 other ocassions without any problems. Tonight, very disappointed with our room. Bathroom was not cleaned. We found blood stains on toilet, hair dryer and floor. Ice bucket had clump of hairs stuck on the side, the inside of bucket was dirty. AC was dripping onto the floor. Vanity not clean. Wifi not accessible. The front desk attendant not one bit hospitable when I showed him pics of our room condition. I was supposed go stay here 4 nights but do not plan on spending my money here anymore.

The staff at the front desk charge me twice for the same transaction. They will try to scam you if you are a tourist. I call them to confront on the double charge sent them my bank charges and they told me they needed both receipts to refund. They obviously ran my card another time without consent and was not given a receipt. They where expecting me not to notice. They told me to dispute it to my bank that they would not give a refund. Do not get a room at this hotel as they will scam you and steal your money!!!
