Our instructor was knowledgeable and attentive; we’ve learned a few new techniques and really enjoyed our experience surfing in Sayulita! I highly recommend it.

It was easy to book and they were very responsive when I was asking them questions before I booked and on the day before the lesson. Coco was a great instructor. Very knowledgeable, patient and helpful. I would recommend Avex to anyone looking for a surf school in Sayulita and I look forward to more surfing with Avex next time I'm in Sayulita.

They convinced us to take classes at La Lancha over Sayulita and we're so grateful that we did that! La Lancha is SO BEAUTIFUL and such a friendly beginner wave. Our instructors did their best to make the experience as seamless as possible. I caught almost every wave right away with the coaching and help from the instructors. I would 100% take lessons with them again.

Super no frills, easy booking methods, chill crew, and reliable. If you're heading to Sayulita and planning on doing a surf trip or need surf lessons, etc, I couldn't recommend them enough. Gabriel was an excellent instructor, who helped bring my skills to the next level by coaching me in many different ways, working out the best approach until a lesson clicked. He was by far the best instructor I’ve had. Surfing with Gabriel, Stefy, and Lu felt like going surfing with friends. I arrived expecting to take one or two lessons, but ended up going five times. Our surf trips and sessions were the highlight of my week. In the past, I’ve had private surf lessons in Brazil, California and Mexico to try and get my skills to the next level. Other surf schools tend to be unreliable, but Avex was by far the best one I’ve ever gotten to surf with. They were the most responsive, customized the lessons to my skill level (different instructors, locations, and a variety of boards to choose from), and were super professional & flexible in booking. Highly recommend Avex to beginners and anyone who is serious about surfing as well! I’ll definitely be back for more.

Their top notch instructions, patience, and knowledge made for a great experience for the entire family. I can't say it enough if you are in the Sayulita area and have never surfed, give Avex a call and get at least one lesson before trying on your own. It'll make all the difference in the world.
