★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hay poca variedad de especies, pero está bien conservado, el personal es amable y hay perchas para dejar tu bolsa si lo deseas. Hay patitos bebés detrás de sus madres. Diferentes tipos de patos convive en el lugar. Se puede ver a los flamingos de cerca. Hay un Pelícano algo solitario. Unos pericos verdes y azules, uno de ellos es super gritón. Las ardillas se comen la fruta y semillas de las aves, pero todos están en santa paz.
 There is little variety of species, but it is well preserved, the staff is friendly and there are hangers to leave your bag if you wish. There are baby ducklings behind their mothers. Different types of ducks live in the place. You can see the flamingos up close. There is a somewhat lonely Pelican. Some green and blue parakeets, one of them is super loud. The squirrels eat the fruit and seeds of the birds, but they are all in holy peace.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La última vez que lo visite ya no había paso al aviario solo al zoológico a mí me encantan los animales y fue una pena ver que todos los animales están bastante mal (flacos, sucios) se ve que ya no les tienen las atenciones que necesitan aparentemente solo les dan alimentos para que sobrevivan y no para mantenerlos en buenas condiciones. Faltan muchísimos animales y dentro de las jaulas de otros animales pusieron a las aves a unas cuantas por qué ni siquiera están todas las que había dentro del aviario. En pocas palabras el zoológico y el aviario ya no es opción para ir a disfrutar y ver animales
The last time I visited, there was no longer a passage to the aviary, only to the zoo. I love animals and it was a pity to see that all the animals are quite bad (skinny, dirty). They see that they no longer have the attention they need. they only give them food to survive and not to keep them in good condition. There are a lot of animals missing and inside the cages of other animals they put the birds to a few because they are not even all the ones inside the aviary. In a few words the zoo and the aviary is no longer an option to go to enjoy and see animals

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ya no hay tantas especies pero es divertido entrar y ver algunas especies conviviendo con los visitantes. En día de mi visita me encontré con una parte cerrada por temporada de apareamiento y no encontré algunas aves del catálogo. Ver a los flamingos es muy asombroso pero creo que se ven mejor desde el area del Aguila Real.
There are not so many species anymore but it is fun to go in and see some species living with visitors. On the day of my visit I found a closed part for mating season and did not find some birds in the catalog. Seeing the flamingos is very amazing but I think they look better from the Aguila Real area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La mayoría de las aves están libres y se ven muy bien cuidadas, lo malo es que a veces no sabes cuál es cuál y las pocas que están en jaulas también están revueltas, si no sabes mucho de aves no las identificas fácilmente, el día que fuimos hubo demostraciones de cetrería (aves de caza) y te explican porque no debemos comprar especies exóticas, ya que solo 1 de cada 9 aves sobrevive al transporte y la manipulación antes de ser vendidas. Muy buen trabajo concientizando a la gente.
Most of the birds are free and look very well taken care of, the bad thing is that sometimes you do not know which is which and the few that are in cages are also upset, if you do not know much about birds you do not identify them easily, the day that We went there were demonstrations of falconry (game birds) and they explain why we should not buy exotic species, since only 1 in 9 birds survive transport and handling before being sold. Very good work raising awareness.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Muy buen lugar, la unica observación para mejorar de este sitio, es que le se han olvidado totalmente del mantenimiento al camino despues de la lona donde esta señalizado especies en reproducción.
Un pelicano que habita ahi trae gratos recuerdos en visitas anteriores
Very good place, the only observation to improve this site, is that they have completely forgotten about the maintenance of the road after the canvas where reproducing species are marked.

It was founded July 6, 1923 by Mexican biologist Alfonso Luis Herrera using donations from private citizens and governmental funds from the Ministry of Agriculture and Development, and also with funds from the Society of Biological Studies. The zoo houses almost 2000 animals from more than 200 species. The zoo is known for its success in breeding programs of threatened species, including: giant pandas (first institution outside of China to successively breed the species in captivity), California condors (first institution outside of the United States to successively breed the species) and Mexican wolves (first litter of cubs born to released wolves).
