DONT RENT YOUR CAR HERE!! They like to rip people off and had us at the airport waiting for the car for 4 hours after they lied to us about only having 2019 and 2020 cars they wanted to give us a old car. Lady on the front desk lied to us multiple times we are not the only ones that have had bad experience here.. NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN

Update, nov.08 2019 8pm. I was very happy with avis because last time rented here, they respected my reservation from expedia without forcing me to buy extra insurance, well, this time they told i had to buy road assistance and something else super expensive,! I said no , and they insisted, they said is the law, hahaha, the avis law I guess. They lost a customer. I recommend enterprise and national. Excellent servise with them! And no problems, just like USA. Go there .. It was a great experience at AVIS, they respected my price reservation with out lies, they offered me extra insurance but with out pushing or obligating me to buy it.. The agent Astrid was professinal and super helpful !; It was like renting a car in a first world country. Thank you Avis.

It's always a bad time at Avis. The price is never the price. It's always the price plus this, plus that, plus whatever else, equals for times the price. Why can't they just tell you ACTUALLY how much is going to be per day instead of hitting you with surprise fees. They tried to pin damage on us. Luckily we had taken pictures before we drove off the lot so they didn't get away with that this time. But I'm sure they get away with it all the time with other unsuspecting people. Then they tried to fine us $3000 pesos for dog hair in the car. I took it to the nearest car wash and vacuumed it out in five minutes for $20 pesos. There was one good worker there though. Carolina. She was very helpful.

I just finished a week long rental, and the staff were excellent, the car was good. However the signage of where to drop your car off needs to be improved - not only by AVIS but by all companies through the airport. I nearly missed my flight as i kept missing the turn down the side road. I suggest that if the signing cannot be improved that the staff give some directions when you rent the car on how to find the return location, particularly as the google pin drop does not reflect the location

Renting was fine and quick. We rent through Expedia and got a deal with Avis. The woman agent was friendly. When taking the car back, it was quick. The guy surveyed the vehicle and we went about our way. I've had worst experiences in my own country (US) dealing with aggressive upselling of auto insurance (even though my major CC takes care of that) and getting into verbal altercations because they are trying to get us to sign an "accident waiver" so can we can be responsible for scratches and dents that we did not do. (Didn't sign). Anyway I say all that to say bad and good customer service is world wide. Thankfully our service in Cancun was great!

Sadly it has been a bad experience so far, I booked the car through Expedia and paid for the insurance nevertheless, when I arrived since I didn’t pay for the Avis insurance which was five times more expensive they had my credit card reserved for $50,000 pesos which is roughly US$2,500!!!! I wasn’t bad enough when I turned the car in, I thought I left a cell phone and I’ve been calling them on their 24 hour line which they do not pick up. I found the phone thank God it in my suitcase, but nevertheless zero dependability and a time of crisis.

Very disappointed ? ? ? They don't provide cars if you are foreign and one of your documents (credit card, passport or drivers license) doesn't have 1 year. I just renewed my US passport and that was the reason to not provide me a car.

Quotation for 14 days a week ago without any discount: 18000 pesos. Quotation today with a 50% discount, 19000 pesos ? Seriously, you should double check their offers and compare with other similar quality rental places (Hertz, etc.) Tried to contact the customer service on WhatsApp and they were useless saying that it's the price and that's it.
