Have been here twice before. One time, they were understaffed with only one person working the desk. Wait time as over 20 min even with a reservation. The second time, there were 3 people working the desk and the service was fantastic. Note that Mexico City has "hoy no circula" so cars are harder to reserve due to pollution.

Service was as agreed online, no additional costs. I did not take full insurance and personnel didn't force me to take it. Just one question and that's it. It took at least 45 minutes to sort out the paperwork, but it seems that's normal in Mexico. Staff were polite. Why not 5 stars? I was thinking even 1 but decided 3 in the end because it turned out well. While I was waiting for paperwork I chatted with staff and informed them about where I will go. And they didn't find necessary to inform me about fuel shortages all around Mexico City. So not knowing that I went with my family to Guanajuato and didn't have anywhere to refuel. Due to the fight against corruption and fuel mafia there was no fuel in several states and guys at rental agency surely knew about it but just didn't inform me, or forgot. One can say that I could inform myself, but to be honest this is specific, vital piece of information and not something you can overlook if you want to have 4 or 5 star review.

I strongly recommend against renting a car from this location. I recently rented from this location and couldn't regret it more. I'm an Avis Preferred member who frequently rents cars for both business and personal travel in the US and abroad. I've rented cars in Jordan, Turkey, South Africa, and Georgia among other countries (just to offer some perspective). I waited over an hour at this location to receive my rental, which caused me to have to cancel plans; and on my return it took another forty-five minutes, which caused my taxi fare to double in price while I waited. The act of picking up a rental should never cause a customer to have to cancel appointments. Unfortunately, this isn't the worst of it. Upon my return, the employees claimed damage to a tire -- a "bump in the rubber" to be precise. The tire was is perfect working condition; again, the tire was not flat. When inspecting the vehicle before taking possession, the employees did not mention a need to inspect the tires, even after I prompted confirmation that we had reviewed all the necessary components of the vehicle. To summarize, the employee with whom I inspected the vehicle told me we'd covered everything and it was not necessary to inspect the tires, but upon return they changed their story and claimed damage. I had fortunately purchased full insurance (which absurdly tripled the cost of the rental), so this claim is of minor detail to me at this point. But I write this review to caution others from renting here, as I suspect that the employees will invent damage in order to charge you additional fines. The entire exchange seemed very much a scam, so consider your rental carefully and if possible, go elsewhere for a car in Mexico City. A final note: Avis Customer Service, whom I called to speak with about this experience, had little to say and offered nothing in the way of remedying this experience of mine. When renting from a known company, one expects consistent experience regardless of city or country, otherwise, I'd just rent from a locally-owned company and pay less. In short, I'd recommend another rental company altogether. **Edited 15 December 2018: The owner or manager at this location asked me to contact them by phone or email (as you will see below this review unless they delete their comment). I emailed and 24 hours later I have still not heard anything from them. Please do not be fooled by their attempt at customer service outreach on this platform; neither this location nor Avis corporate has made any attempts to remedy the experience.

This is a gang of thieves and scammers, not a real company. Do not trust any information they provide, as at the end you will be charged much more than what you thought you would pay. And then, when trying to complain, you will be lost in the bureaucracy of a big company. It's the moment to support small local companies and not an international multimillionaire business. If even after reading this you still decide to go for it, check very carefully the car and the contracts you're signing, because they will try to trick you somehow at the end.

I accompanied my parents on a trip during which they had reserved a car from this location and our experience couldn't have been worse. In all my and my parents' years of rental cars, we've never had a more miserable time getting a car. The insurance triples the price of the rental if you take it; if you don't they'll lie and invent damage. The wait times are exceptionally long (1.5 hours to pickup and 1 hour to return) and the employees are curt. You're better off renting elsewhere.

This company does not respect reservations, their system doesn’t work properly. Please be wary of renting from this company.

Actually pretty good service; the key is to prepaid the rent, no hidden fees or extra charges; car was very good the only issue: no place to take / return the car
