Best service en playa del carmen. I tried budget, hertz and europcar and they were not honoring my bookings. They would always try to overcharge something. I did not have this problem with avis.

Had a great Rental Experience at this Avis location. Rented 4 times from this location during my trip to PDC. Used Avis online to Pre-Pay and there were no hidden charges. Staff were very professional and great.

We rented a small manual car for a day trip. Got there the night before, booked the car, came back around 7:15 and it took about half an hour to do all the paperwork. Service was really good, but the whole process is time consuming. Car was clean, 55k on the meter and was in descent shape. Insurance options were clear and not a hassle. All in all a nice experience, but I have to say we got lucky it was only us because at this speed you could end up waiting a long time if there is a line up.

Credit Card Scam! Beware of this place. I rented a car with my credit card here and 2 weeks later weird charges started showing up on my cc statement, some from Mexico and some online purchases of software and video games. They needed my drivers license to book the car, and conveniently forgot to give it back to me. I didn’t realize until about an hour later and had to go back to get it. That’s how they were able to use my CC. Also, I was told when I booked a car that car WiFi is free of charge, and when I picked up the car the next day they were trying to charge me. Shame on you Avis.

No problem with vehicle or the fair rate they charged, However one of the oddest car rental experiences I have had to date. The guy working the counter was really struggling and had no bearing on what was going on. He almost seamed to be on drugs or confused in some way. It happened both when picking up and when dropping it off. We waited for 30-45 minutes for the Avis rep to go through the car, sign off and leave with the car. Meanwhile the guy at the counter is asking where the keys and where the car is. Complete an utter incompetence made it a very frustrating situation. Dragged on so long and was so frustrating had to leave and was unable to effectively communicate with the representative. The gentleman in front of us also had very simular problems and seemed confused as well on the level of competency in the Avis Rep. I would avoid this place or make sure you don't get the white guy with short cropped hair. Confused, dyslexic and unable to perform the tasks of the job.

They ask for a huge deposit (5000 USD)which I still haven't got back, even after calling every day. Every time they say that there supervisor will take a look tomorrow. Edit: They said it would maybe take 5 business days.

Great experience. Made the reservation on-line and picked up the car next day at the office. They even upgraded my car since they didn't have the model I reserved. Very professional. Thank you!

Nothing to whine about. We got the car really quickly and it was almost new (driven under 8000 km). The price was even cheaper than online. We got full insurance, so we didn't have to pay any deposit other than 30 dollar fee for gasoline. They returned the gas money within one or two weeks after we returned the car. Ps. We had Chevy and no one didn't break into it.. (referring to a previous comment.)
