★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No pierdan su tiempo rentando aquí. Te dicen que las tarifas en internet son “promocionales” y que solo tienen seguro de daños a terceros. Para rentarte el coche te piden un depósito de $50,000 (si cincuenta mil) en mi caso, por un i10. A la señora de junto le querían bloquear $35,000 mil. Para “bajarte el depósito” te ofrecen un seguro de cobertura amplia que dobla el precio del coche (de $3500 que reservé en internet quería más de $7000) por tres dias de un i10. No caigan. Hay muchas más opciones más económicas.

El chico del mostrador es un sinverguenza, que no te permite poner una queja en persona, ni te da ningún tipo de recibo ni prueba de nada, hace como que teclea el n el ordenador pero es todo mentira, tendréis que pelear y mucho, luego por internet con Avis

The guy at the counter is a scoundrel, he does not allow you to make a complaint in person, nor does he give you any type of receipt or proof of anything, he pretends to type n on the computer but it is all a lie, you will have to fight and a lot, then online with Avis
Third world deal!
You are warned!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good: When we wanted to get our car two days earlier than we reserved it, Stephanie Valencia was very helpful and made it happen. It was rather expensive, though.
Bad: Surprisingly, staff other than Stephanie speak little English. (Not to be the Ugly American, but you'd think English would be spoken at a car rental desk in a major city.) Also, there was no signage or explanation telling us how to return the car, which led to some stress.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They accepted a reservation for drop off at Cozumel weeks in advance. I showed up and they couldn't do Cozumel drop off. That's fine. It would involve a ferry. But then they wanted an extra $100 to drop in off in Playa instead.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Extremely easy, fast and friendly rental process! Had read so many reviews of terrible rental experiences at seemingly every company in Merida, so was worried about what to expect upon arrival, but was helped by a wonderful agent (completely fluent in English) with no aggressive push for any extra insurances or upsells.
Had prepaid for a premium car, advertised as a Toyota Camry, and that's exactly what we were given. Even changed the reservation last minute at the desk to return to the airport for no additional charge.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had to return the car at Mérida airport, however I discovered that there was an Avis office 2 blocks away where all the hotels are located. The return took a little longer, as you have to park the car on the side of the Fiesta Americana hotel, then go to the Avis office, where they will check your papers. The following step they go out and check the car, millage and fuel, returning to the office, where they will print your final receipt.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a mess. Firstly the person behind the counter had nothing to do. Explained that I had to book online to get a reasonable price. So I sat in the office on cellar data trying to book. It took forever. While person behind the counter continued to stand there doing nothing.
The next day at pick up, I was 13 minutes early Of course the car was not there. The drivers licence and credit card was not enough id. Then when that was resolved they then wanted 40,000.00 pesos deposit. 10 Times the rental cost of 4,000 pesos. This was a last minute add on. I cancelled and will not be back
