This was an incredibly unique and unforgettable experience, and I am so glad we did it. We took the afternoon mangrove kayak tour and the bioluminescence tour, and Carlos was an absolutely incredible and knowledgeable guide for both of them. He is passionate about his work and taught us a lot about the area. I'd highly recommend taking any tour with Azul Turquesa!

The guide was good but the tour was not worth it. We did the bioluminescence in a kayak and barely saw anything even though we were told the bioluminescence was 70%. When talking to some other locals they said that the bioluminescence in Holbox was amazing and we weren’t in the right place. Save your money and go elsewhere or go by yourself as the best part of our tour was seeing the stars.

Diana was very friendly and helped us to book a transfer to Cancun Airport and she rented us bikes for a fair price. Also we could ask here any questions through whatsapp during our stay :)

We booked the early morning kayak tour. The tour guide simply did not show up at the meeting point. After waiting for half an hour and the tour guide Whatsapp not responding, we left the meeting point without a tour. Thanks for wasting our time in our holidays...

Did a great bioluminescence tour with Mireilla and Chaparro (his nickname)! We met in the center of town and were driven by golf cart to the kayak point and did a little group orientation in the dark with a small light so we could start adjusting our eyes to night. We paddled out with our two guides and around 6 other people and the stars were beautiful. Paddling at night is less scary than expected and the water is very calm. At some point we stopped and saw the bioluminescence which appears when you move your hand/paddle in the water. We also linked up kayaks and had time to jump in and swim. Swimming around at night with the stars above and sparkles around your hands and legs was amazing. Yes - true - the bioluminescence is not super intense. We were told that the peak season is June to September and then it can be visible or not visible in December, due to currents. We were happy to see some! Some people complain about things like this but you gotta understand when you’re out to see a natural phenomenon its not in the control of the tour company and you gotta put your expectations in line with the season. Also note that when we went, our tour was at 9pm - but depending on the moon cycle, some tours start later. Our guide said that on the full moon itself, they instead do a cacao ceremony on the water to honor the Mayan goddess of the moon which sounds cool too! Very much worth what we paid for it which was around 650 pesos each! Go try it!

Did the bioluminescence tour. We had a great time and all went well with Azul Tourquesa. Knowledgable and interested guide! Visibility of the bioluminescence obviously depends on the moon phase and weather conditions but we were lucky to have a good experience.
