B&B Le Gite Del Sol - 29230 San Cristóbal de las Casas

What a horrible experience. I traveled 17+ hours to San Cristobal and it took me half an hour to get to the B&B where I experienced the WORST treatment ever… I had to wait 15 min at the door just to get in. Then I was asked to wait for the owner to charge my card, as I booked the room on their website, where there was NO information that they charge extra for paying with card… I informed the owner that they cannot charge extra as it is nowhere written on the website, or mentioned during booking. WHICH IS ILLEGAL. IN MEXICO THERE IS A LAW ACCORDING TO THE MEXICAN GOVERNMENT. CONSUMERS HAVE 7 BASIC RIGHTS IN MEXICO. HOWEVER THE OWNERS DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE MEXICAN LAW, THEY PREFER TO ACT ILLEGALLY. WHEN I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE LAW THE OWNER SAID HE DOES NOT KNOW OR CARE ABOUT THE LAW… THIS WILL BE REPORTED TO THE MEXICAN COMPETENT AUTHORITY: PROFECO. AVOID THIS PLACE. THE RUDEST AND MOST UNFRIENDLY PEOPLE I EVER MET AROUND THE WORLD…. WHAT A SHAME. AS I SEE FROM THE COMMENTS I AM NOT THE FIRST PERSON THEY TREAT SO BADLY. THE LAW IS FOR EVERYONE TO RESPECT...

Doors are really loud and other guests don't mind making noise at night or very early in the morning, and you can hear everything. When booking two bus tickets in the hostel, after the owner insisting that it was the same price as in the bus station, the second one was more expensive. Strangely when I checked on internet later on, both were cheap. He didn't offer any refund or any solution after complaining. My advice, book your tickets in the ADO office (main street) or use internet yourself. Breakfast was fair enough for the price.

Location is great, very friendly staff and fellow lodgers. Bedding was very basic. Sheets were so thin you could see clearly through them so not very comfortable. Plenty of blankets provided.

Really good place to stay, and the staff is really great ! The owner speaks French, English and Spanish so you'll be able to ask what you want even if you do not as much comfortable with one of theses 3 languages ! And he's really nice ! Thanks again, it was a great stay !

The facilities are ok, but the owners attitude is rude and not welcoming. I would not recommend this place for a long stay. We felt like they were rushing us out. The staff is great.

We stayed a week, the entire week the owner was flirting to my boyfriend. Breakfast was very slow. They forgot my toast and they never apologize when they realize it 30 minutes after.

The location is great very close to the main square. The rooms are a little basic and can get cold. The staff are super friendly and helpful. They serve breakfast and you can choose from various options. The best part is that you can book bus tickets right from the hotel. You can also buy excursions from the hotel. We booked a trip to Sumidero Canyon that eat very advertisement l affordable and an amazing experience.
