30 minutes from downtown Bacalarand after a good 10 minute drive down a dirt road amongst pineapple plantations you will find Bacalar Lagoon Resort. A true paradise. Understand this is not a 3 or 4 diamond resort, it is however a perfect escape into the beautiful jungle wilderness with the out of this world blue lagoon of Bacalar right infront of you. You are recieved by Suri, who automatically greets you, quickly explains the rules of the place, and afterwards is constantly (literally every day follow-ups) making sure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. Very clean and accommodating rooms (independent palapa/huts) with great views of the lagoon. They also offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner which are surprisingly awesome and very justly priced. F&B-wise they are so accommodating they even bring food and drinks straight to your private terrace; coffee in the morning and margaritas in the evening. Nerio was a fantastic waiter and he, along with the kitchen crew have my respect for what they do, considering where they are. Bacalar Lagoon resort also offers free kayaks to use at leisure, ping pong, and a playground for the toddlers. Recomndations for the resort; AC would have been nice as an additional option, but keeping the windows and the fan on at night was enough. Hammocks at the room terrace and "beach" area would have been awesome for a siesta. I recommend this place if you are looking for a great place to sit back and relax without expecting high-end luxury. Will be going back!

This place is off the beaten path a bit so it offers a lot of serenity but the lake is beautiful Everywhere. if you could I’d suggest staying at an air bnb as most of the hotels that we’ve seen on the lake ar crusty and not very up to date. Bacalar resort is one of the more expensive ones and rooms are hot during the day, don’t offer AC except for summer months. The food is mediocre and other food spots are a good drive away. Th place wasn’t that clean had laundry hanging behind our room and even though the place was empty there was still other people’s leftover food and cigarette butts on the dock. The staff was also kinda rude until the owner got there. Also there is very poor to no cell phone reception.

By far the best little hotel along the Bacalar Lagoon, privileged location away from the crowds and with spectacular views of the Seven Color Lagoon. There are other options to stay along the Bacalar lagoon, but there's no other property where you can sleep literally a few steps away from the water. Waking up in the morning and observe the sunrise, or relax while moon illuminating the lagoon at night is priceless. For the time being this location is a little difficult to access but it's really worth it, in fact it's probably that difficulty to access it one of the reason why this area has not been polluted and is hidden from the crowds. Be aware that this is not the place for you if you're looking for a very hectic nightlife, open bars with cheap drinks for that, just keep driving and you'll end up in Cancun or Playa del Carmen

It's a nice lovely place, very comfy. It's a little bit far from any big city, the nearest one is Bacalar approximately 50km. Have a nice access to the lagoon, restaurant service that provides breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food service its a little bit expensive but it's OK. Pet friendly and you can camping if you want to do so.

We didn't stay here, but went for lunch after an excursion from our cruise ship. The owner ate lunch with us, answered all our questions, and told us his story of purchasing and building the resort. The place is in the middle of nowhere. You have to go down a very long dirt road to get here, but it's very worth it. The food was great, and the resort was absolutely gorgeous.

Very clean and spacious for such a small place. No beach but access to the lagoon was very easy. Be prepared, very rocky close to shore. The rocks are very slippery and the water directly in front is very shallow. If you do not like bumpy roads, then you will hate the short drive down the lane from the highway to the resort. It is a long slow bumpy ride. The staff was very nice and the food provided that day was very tasty and filling. The waterfront could use a few more umbrellas. Plenty of Kayaks and inner tubes available.

This place is absolutely beautiful. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. I have to say that the road to the resort is probably the bumpiest 15 minutes of my life, but the fun I had in the resort was worth it. The resort itself is very well-kept and pristine. The lagoon is very nice but very shallow and rocky. It was a great time nonetheless
