Mixed experience. The staff on site are incredible. But the facilities are not. The rooms are semi-open to the outdoors which makes sleeping at night very difficult due to the noise of insects and birds. Bugs also get in and fly around in your room at night. Nothing on the website gives you a heads up about this. Also, you are only getting the central building - not the entire property. The website gives the illusion that you are booking the entire property (the aerial photos are ambiguous and sort of sell the idea you’re getting multiple structures), but the properties that flank Bacana casa on the left and right are owned by other people and are often booked by other guests, so noise became a serious issue on our recent stay. You can hear conversations and music coming from the adjacent properties, so even though the location is remote, our stay was just as noisy as being in a major city.

Casa Bacana exceeded our expectations in every way. The house is amazing but the staff are what truly make the experience. From the moment we arrived, we started planning our return. The food and service are absolutely incredible. The scenery is second to none. And the house has everything you could want or need. I highly recommend a massage with Irasema. It was affordable, a great value, and the massage I’d been needing. We were concerned about having ice for mixed drinks and drinking water and the house had more than we could ever need. Paola was super responsive in the booking process and during our trip. Estela not only prepared all of our meals, but also helped me track down a lost suitcase with the airline. If it weren’t for her, I’d probably still be looking for it! All of the staff catered to our every need and anticipated what we might want next. They were one step ahead of us, always. Truly a 5-star experience. We also hired transportation from the airport through Paola, and we were so pleased with Leonardo, we ended up hiring him for every ride we took. We will cherish our time here forever. I literally cried when we said goodbye to the staff. We can’t wait to return.
