★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bar Diurno La Chamba is in a neighborhood of many bars diurno. I've not yet been in this particular one or in any of the others because, mainly, it's too hot and often the music is too loud for contemplative day drinking, as we say further north.
What I don't understand of this phenomenon of the day bar is why does everybody want to drink all day instead of all night when it's much cooler? Do any day drinkers work? These bars are the greatest mystery of my Tapachula experience.
And of all things, why is the Mormon church and its gated compound right here on this street -- Faena -- that had to have a name other than First which it is in practice and effect? This is indeed the Outer Limits of the city, yet, this is inner, an island within the city's everyday life.
