★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The owners are really nice and friendly, you don’t feel like they want to scam you like other places. They respond promptly on WhatsApp anytime of the day in case something happens. They didn’t mind returning the scooter few hours later than what we booked without extra charge. We lost one helmet and they didn’t make us panic about this but gave us another helmet and charge us exactly what a helmet would cost which was very cheap. The bikes and scooters are very well-maintained, not rusty or outdated.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highly recommend getting a scooter from Barbel during your stay in Tulum!! We had already rented a car and only meant to explore the city on a scooter for a day, but ended up keeping it for the entire length of our stay. SO MUCH more fun, way easier to find parking and make random pit stops to explore, best decision we made!
They’re also a lovely couple and delivered/picked up the bike at our doorstep. It comes with helmets, a couple of bike locks and the bike itself has a little storage compartment in the seat. Everything you’d need!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A fantastic family run business with brilliant bikes. I got one of their mountain bikes and it was so much fun. I also got a puncture and they drove straight to me with a new bike. I was back on the roads within 20 minutes. A wonderful kind family, can't recommend them enough

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice owners, the electric bikes are great and get you places quicker. They are always on hand to help if you need anything or if anything goes wrong. My wife cut her foot badly while riding the bike and the Italian owners were really helpful, getting her cleaned up and seen by a local doctor. For that alone, you know you are dealing with friendly, honest people. They speak multiple languages as well. They also rent scooters (mopeds) and ATVs (quad bikes).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best scooters and owners in all of Tulum! Had a fantastic experience renting from them and would do it again in a heartbeat! A scooter rental was very affordable and all they asked was to hold an ID as deposit. It was our first time riding one and we got a quick instruction and were off with no problems. Highly recommend Barbel! Their scooters are the way to go for getting around Tulum and down to the beach!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Renting an e-bike from Barbel made my stay in Tulum much more enjoyable. Could get around and to the beach much faster. At the shop, they are so helpful and will show you all the details. The first bike's battery wasn't connecting very well, biking on Tulum's bumpy roads but they gave me a new bike without any problem. Rented for 6 days and enjoyed it a lot. It is heavier than a regular bike be aware if you have to lift it often.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This family is so kind, I had such a great experience here. Having an electric bicycle in Tulum was a life saver! It gives you the boost you need to get through the streets of Tulum, and it's quite fun!
They knew a little bit of English, and I knew a little bit of Spanish so we were able to communicate relatively easy. They made sure that I had everything I needed before I left: A basket and a good lock, and lights for the front and back of the bike at night. I was also given a charger for the electric pack and shown how to use it.
Renting from Barbel is a MUST in Tulum!
If I lived there, I know we'd be friends!

Prices are great and location is perfect - right downtown near everything and beside the ADO bus station so it was very convenient for us.
