Definitely spectacular. We ran down the main route to the river which took 45 min. We crossed the river on bridge 1 and followed on the right side North to bridge 2. We crossed this suspension bridge and ran a bit back on the other side and followed an extremly steep way with stairs back up. Definitely tough 9 km in 2 hours.

Is a excellent place to do exercise. The road is all rocky so you need to keep a good strength on the leg. Is really important to bring enough water for this, 2 or 3 liters and to keep thinking about the strength to go back, so don't over do it if you are not used to this kind of work. If you manage to go all the way you will find this beautiful red bridge that is espectacular. The roughest part is going back up, for this there are 2 ways. The road or the tracks. If you like a little more climbing the best is the tracks if not you should go back through the road.

This amazing canyon is carved out by two rivers, there is plenty to see. I chose the suspension bridge at the bottom of the canyon. This is a strenuous hike that starts at the top of the canyon. You can follow the switch back easy enough down to the bottom there are a total of 58 switch backs. At the top of the canyon and along the route there are vendors that sale water and other refreshments. Once you reach the bottom you'll see the sign that points you to the direction of the bridge 1km. The hike is just breathtaking from the top of the canyon to the canyon floor. The views are wonderful the canyon floor is just amazing with mountains towering above on both sides. However the only issue is the river. It's what the locals call "aguas negras" or black water. What can I say Mexico does not have the proper water treatment facilities and as a result the river is severely polluted. Still plenty of people visit the area, once you see this canyon for yourself you will see why. One last thing for those of you in great physique a challenge awaits, you can go back up to the canyon top using a railway build for workers of the electric plant bellow. This is a very steep route caution people have died going up this route, anyway stick to the 58 switch backs and you'll be fine.

Beautiful place to hike with an amazing view. I recommend you bring shoes with good grip, water and definitely put on sunscreen. Tip: go early in the morning when the sun is about to rise or when the sun is setting specially because the hike back up is pretty tough. There are a couple different routes to take. There’s one route where you can go see an abandoned village, beware it stinks but that’s where the rail road begins if you want to take the rail road back. There’s another route that takes you to the bridge and on the way back It takes you through some stairs and a waterfall. If you’re up to go all the way down and hike back up be prepared for a 2+ hr hike! Be careful & Have fun!
