The team at B&B work hard to provide a clean, safe and quiet venue for their guests. Breakfast is prepared each morning and the rooms and bathrooms are spotless. The location, by Insurgentes metro, meant that we could quickly and cheaply (5 pesos per one-way trip) travel anywhere in the city.

I reviewed this place on hostelworld already but I forgot to mention that when I decided to leave a day early, the young girl that works there was watching me for 5 minutes while I waited for my taxi to pick me up, which sums up the awkward atmosphere at this place. I feel bad because the employers are good people and I’m sure they mean well, but the place is not managed well for a B&B. Hopefully the owner will read this and make corrections if he is wise. I will not return.

This was exactly what we needed for our visit with our family - the rooms were a great size, and although simple, exactly what we needed for a reasonable price for Mexico City. Few small things that would have made our stay even better - - access to clean drinking water in the hotel lobby. It was possible to buy clean water in the shops nearby but it is such a waste of plastic (that takes 100s of years to degrade and isn't recyclable in most places in Mexico). Even having to pay to contribute to the 20 litre refillable ones would have been better, and would have saved a lot of waste. - plug sockets near the beds. - small bed side tables and a lamp next to the bed - ability to turn the lights off from in the room (for the front bedroom on the 2nd floor).

Please do not stay here unless you have the ability to tip-toe around like a mouse. I was appauled at the treatment my boyfriend and I received from the owner while here. We booked for four nights over New Years Eve. On new years day my boyfriend was going in and out the bedroom to get to the bathroom and kitchen when the owner came out of his room (the room next door) and aggressively told him to stop slamming doors. We were not slamming doors, it's just that they are heavy and make a noise when they close behind you. This was at 10.30 in the morning anyway! The next time we left the room he demanded we leave and threatened to call the police because and I quote, 'we can't shut doors properly.' We were forced to leave on new years day and find new accomodation. I have never been so shocked or ever received this sort of treatment. I'm sure the real reason he was angry was because we came in late the night before. However it was New Year's Eve and we tried to be as quiet as possible. Maybe he should not open the hostel on this night or weekends if he doesn't want people coming in late and he should sort the doors out so they don't slam! It is shame as the other staff were lovely and the location was good so the hostel could have been great, but the owner needs to learn something about being kind to paying customers.

Staff let me check in at 2am, and it's near La Condesa. But unfortunately that's where the positives stop. If you're looking at this on hostelworld or a similar site, don't be mislead. This isn't a hostel. Zero atmosphere, to the point where it is uncomfortable to even just be there. Strict no guest policy helps to reinforce the lack of atmosphere if you want to have friends around for predrinks before hitting the bars. Breakfast was pretty standard but common/breakfast room was locked when it's not breakfast time. Can be hard to find staff. Curtains are so thin in the rooms that it feels like daylight at 3am. Shower screams uncontrollably. Not sure if other rooms could hear it but it was loud. Hostelworld website says there are Laundry facilities but it turns out that just means there's a laundry a few blocks away. Not a big deal but if that's one of the factors when you book a place (which it was) then it's misleading for them to take a booking away from someone else who is honest about their facilities. They also have no mentioned of their no guest policy on Hostelworld, so when they spring that on you as you're checking in and then say you agreed to it, that's just dishonest and sneaky. If you want any info on tours and what to do around the city you'll need to pry that information out of them. I had booked 5 nights but left after one. Owner still refuses any form of refund whatsoever even while mediating through Hostelworld. The 7 day minimum cancellation should've been a warning as I'm sure I'm not the first person who's wanted to leave as soon as they arrived.

We had a great stay here. All the staff were extremely lovely and welcoming. The place was quiet and clean. The breakfast is pretty good they try to offer a new Mexican dish each morning as well as toast and fruit. We definitely recommend it for the budget and this area!

Great location and super friendly staff. The place was clean. I had the room with bathroom and the bed was king-sized very comfortable. Neighborhood was super safe and close to the subway, restaurants, and nightlife. Downsides were it looked a bit old, someone had to come down to open the main door each time, and breakfast wasn't very the best but it was definitely sufficient. Bread, jam, fruits, juices, coffee/tea, etc. I would definitely recommend this place to others!

Great little place with your basic amenities. It's in a great location, steps away from the metro station insurgentes. They have great people working there, ready at your service. The best part is the morning breakfast, incredibly filling and always something new. It was not crowded at all and I loved that it was a quiet place to stay. They even offered to keep my luggage after I checked out. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in Mexico City.
