BestDay Travel - 77710 Playa del Carmen

We booked several extracurricular activities via BD travel @ Panama Jacks PDC . Marisa was very nice in assisting us on looking at activities to do. She seemed quite genuine and gave us a great experience in doing so. She compelled my partner and I to book several excursions. She offered us a multi excursion-discount at 20% Off. (At the end of the day- our discount was only 10%) First experience was sold as Tulum and Xel-Ha. Two excursions. We paid 150$ usd. Our driver was over 30 minutes late to pick us up at the hotel. We were told it was a 45 minute tour 15 mins from Xel-Ha to experience Tulum. We arrived at 7am to the lobby. They picked up at 8am. We arrived around 9am. We wet to Tulum for 2 hours and got back about 12pm. We had only 6 hours to experience xel-ha. Second, we booked an all day luxury catamaran tour from Cancun to isla mujeres with snorkeling all inclusive beverages and food. We arrived to find that everyone who also booked this excursion from our hotel was on a different boat, we boarded the most basic non luxury catamaran. I approached the captain and he said the nicer boats were more money for people who spent over 65$. We paid 100$ each. So by the time he told us to get off the boat after showing him the receipt. He said if we didn’t get on- we would not go out at all. The snorkeling was basic. No reef, was in the water less than 20 mins Bc too many other boats and strong currents. The food was very basic and buffet style At isla mujeres also they had no cups to drink from. So we made do and used soup bowls. They came to the table and said we are welcome and encouraged to leave tips. Oh hell no, We arrived at isla mujeres and rented a golf car and toured the island. When we arrived back the leader for the boat told us “i have bad news” he said that we were missing our transport home if we didn’t board another vessel (they picked up additional people cutting into the snorkel time told to us) we grabbed our belongings boarded the correct style-ship and went back to port in Cancun. As we arrived we found the people very unhelpful. We finally found someone who said the transport left. She called them and they came back to get us- while on our ride. Our van got a flat tire. Delaying us home until 9pm. We spoke to several people who were on the cheap catamaran and they all paid about 22$. We paid 100$ same as everyone on the bus. Everyone on the bus was on the same boat except us. Weird right?! We asked. They paid the same as us. NEVER BOOK W THEM OR TEAM ALBATROSS.

Jesus was our tour guide for our excursion to 3 separate snorkelling sites in the Mayan Riviera, including an amazing cenote. He was wonderful: so clear in his information, very entertaining, completely safety conscious. He made our day so wonderful. Anna was the agent from Best Day that booked this tour for us at our resort (Puerto Adventuras Dreams) in Mexico. She did a brilliant job. These people were completely helpful, truthful and very nice. I would recommend their service highly.

I booked our vacation on Bookit. Com. It just so happened BDtravel were part of our package deal. I booked an all inclusive resort at Royal Playa Del Carmen in Cancun. I also at the same time booked my flight and 3 excursions. The BDTravel people were great at airport but now 5 days into our vacation the BDTravel people at the desk of the hotel are terrible. They don’t try and assist you. We ended up paying for a cab to Xcarate for no reason after I read the voucher it said our transportation was included, well that was $40 gone. They told us we had to pay a cab or pay them the same amount. Beware read your vouchers well. After telling them also I could not confirm my reservations as they told me to as the call would keep dropping off they would not offer to help until the last minute when we showed up for our excursion and they then said we could not go till the next day. So why I scheduled a specific date when I made the reservation is beyond me. Then they try to sell you this sort of vacation plan that will last for years through Real Club. But BDTravel is part of it so for sure we declined this opportunity. The reviews are not so good if you want to research also. I will never book with BDTravel again. I have been treated much better by Vacatins To Go or Gogo tours. Just be ware. The BDTravel people at the Royal Playa Del Carmen are more interested being on their cell phones than helping you. Just walk by them. If they don’t have a customer they are on their cell phone. They were even tending to us but then reaching for their cell phones to answer texts from who know who. Ask questions and review your vouchers otherwise they will not help you

Extremely disappointed with this company and service. We were charged $28 USD more than a couple on the exact same tour as us, on the same day and time (not to mention the tour was not worth the $119 we were charged). We wasted almost an hour travelling in the wrong direction to pick up another couple at a different hotel because their was a mishap with their tour being over-booked, and they needed to be added to ours.Considering we are Canadian we lost almost $40 for no reason. We tried to explain nicely but they wouldn’t do anything for us to make up for the additional ridiculous charges. The rep, Leonardo Perez @ The Ocean Riviera Paradise in Playa Del Carmen (manager Daniela Remes) has the nerve to try and give me money from his own wallet just to keep us from causing further damage to their reputation which is already poor. Air Canada should NOT be partnering with this company, they clearly don’t know customer service and think it’s okay to charge people a different cost for the same service. Will never book with air canada or BD Travel again. Beware of the money scams.

We were upsold on a "better" tour to chichenitza and a cenote but came to find anything but. The tour bus was supposed to go straight from our hotel to the sites but instead went to three other stops to pick up more patrons on the way. We were also promised we would arrive back at the hotel by 4pm and instead came back at 9:30pm. The tours themselves were great, however, Best Day massively over promised on the timeline of the schedule and the transportation services. We missed an evening on the beach as well.

We booked a tour from BD travel at Panama Jacks Playa Del Carmen. They cancelled the trip due to “weather” they asked we pay in cash. When we asked for our money back it took a lot of complaining both to the hotel and BD manager at the time! They kept promising different times. We will have your money after noon. Then we won’t have your money until tomorrow! DO NOT book with these people or use cash they are not very legit!! Even if they give you a good deal for cash avoid at all costs!! We did not leave it alone and after a lot of LOUD confrontations in front of other hotel guests they finally brought us our money!

Crooks Best Day Travels: Upon arriving to the Hilton Playa Del Carmen and waiting for our room we decided to book some travel excursions with Best Day Travel, a booking agency booth located within the hotel. We booked XCaret, Tulum Excursions (with Zipline and Cenote Snorkeling) and a Catamaran tour to Isla Mujeres. We were mislead and reassured to believe everything in the XCaret pamphlet would be provided. Upon arriving we we're told all of the activities shown in the brochure were extra and our total quickly matched what we already paid Best Day. This was extremely vexing. We ended up getting the additional packages as we would be stranded in the park until 4pm when the first bus back would be available. The next day we went on the Tulum Excursions which turned out to be well worth the money. However, due to the inconsistencies of our booking I found the fine print on the brochure that said I could cancel the catamaran trip if it was done the day before. I went down to the booth to request a cancellation. My booking agent was not there so I spoke with William (great guy) about my experiences. He assured me that this is not usual and it could have been due to the new booking agent not providing accurate information and that I should be able to get a full refund on the Catamaran tour. William told me to fill and incident report out and expect a call the next day. That was on Thursday 5/30/19. My party and I left the next day (evening) without receiving a call and I still up to the time of this post have not received a call or refund.

We stayed at Occidental Xcaret and wanted to go to Xel-ha.... we did talk to Xcaret themselves (since they own it) and was told it was $104 per person including travel for the whole day (plus a 10% off for staying at one of there resorts)..... Best Day told us $137 and they would match us of $104 and give us 20% off as it was the first day of us being there and it was a special.... we decied to go with Best Day and when I went to pay, they had put us and our friends all together on my card (4 of us) the card and charged us $107 and gave us 7% off.... I went to ask them at the resort (low and behold, the guy who sold us was on vacation) and they said sorry, give them my card and they would charge me again and request a refund which should take between 7-10 days (so we pay twice... very scammy).... once we got there we wanted a photo pass but since it was paid with a 4 person we would have to get a 4 person pass ($90 compared to $60)... still no aplogy from Best Day, or action on their end.... They were just out to get my money and steal as much as they could... Would I ask or do anything else with them.... No!!!! go elsewhere
