Not really pleasant how Sandra dealt with booking my diving So much drama etc not really clear and straightforward I was staying very close this diving shop while in Playa That's the reason i approached them cuz my stay time there was short Asked about diving with bull sharks she said ok just please come next morning so i will see if i have still spots available for scheduled day Came next morning she wasn't sure constantly checking her phone etc and she said i will let you know later on today if i have spots available i said that's fine Please note that i wanted give her deposit very first day we met and she refused saying it is ok no problem you can pay on your dive day We went to explore playa and i checked my email after few hours and she was saying that she has spot for me for scheduled day I said ok i will meet you later on and pay for my trip Unfortunately we couldn't make later that night and i sent her email that i will meet up her in a morning instead Next day i am getting response from her that she had to release the spot cuz i didn't pay lol .Please note what i mentioned before i wanted to pay on the very first day and she refused saying is ok Please note Sandra that i am the man of my word and i thought you will be the same way - but you obviously not That day i was approached by different agents offering me diving trips even cheaper than your shop chargers But i refused simply saying that i already promised and committed with someone else which was your shop If i knew the way you deal with things i would change my mind ! Well just to show people if they in Playa please choose different diving shop to save yourself a headache

I did my TDI Sidemount and Full Cave Diver training with Erik. Flew all the way from New Zealand to train with the man, and I was not disappointed in the least. Even though he is not one of those "internet/social media famous" instructors (he should be!), he taught me more in 2 weeks than I had learned in all previous courses I had taken (I am technical diver/trimix certified). He is laid back, but intense at the same time, and explains things the way his students need to hear them. If there's a problem preventing your progress, he will help you find a solution to the problem. The dives were super fun, but at the same time quite challenging and demanding. I will be back to do some more cave diving and hopefully next time I'll train for and earn my stage cave diver certification.

Beyond Diving is a charming boutique dive centre operated by the lovely couple Sandra and Erik ably supported by Piggy (the dog) and an amiable crew of local guides and instructors. A diver comes to Beyond Diving because they want personalised service, typically one-on-one instruction in the cenotes or guided tours for couples in the romantic caverns or boat taxis to the abundant reefs around Cozimel where turtles and sharks are the norm for every dive. Unlike the majority of dive operations in the area which are staffed by foreigners relatively new to the scene, here at Beyond Diving you are diving with locals with decades of experience and thousands of dives in the sites you will be visiting. If you are seeking genuine characters and serious diving, then Beyond Diving. If you enjoy making the personal connection with the people you dive with, then Beyond Diving. If you are particular about your diving and appreciate the difference, then Beyond Diving all the way for the win. I reside on the south coast of the UK. I dive often weather permitting and if not then into the pool to keep up the skills and drills. Over several visits I have progressed from Cavern Diver to Full Cave. It is challenging. The general overhead environment and specifics of these cenotes combine for an extremely unforgiving and exacting environment. My instruction has been excellent. I have benefitted from nuanced support and guidance on all levels, equipment, techniques, and mindset. Through Beyond Diving I have dived with world class divers of global renown and swapped tech talk with many more big names in the cenote car park. Beyond Diving is connected to the scene in all the right ways whether you are a beginner or you have already been around the world a few times. Friendly people, real divers, smashing holiday. I am not just taking home memories, I am living the life. Highly recommended.

Man, I really like this place. The owners are super chill and have great stories - and of course are incredible divers and guides. I'm new to diving and Erik, one of the owners, helped me gain a lot of confidence. I saw a lot of badass stuff and and I'm definitely a better diver now than I was a few dives ago. I really had a great time. Thanks BD, y'all are the best.

I loved the personal attention we got from the team at Beyond Diving. This was not a packaged tour with a bunch of other divers, but small, personalized tour based on the skill level and desires of the customers. I was diving with my 2 teenagers, who are relatively new to diving, and Eric did a great job putting together a couple of dives that were appropriate and walked us through everything. Highly Recommended!!

A cosy dive outfit near the beach. Sandra and Erik were a lovely couple together with their dog piggy.They're accommodating enough to organize dive trips for me and my husband although we did not give prior confirmation. Considering the last minute situation, we are really grateful what they managed arranged for us. The dives itself were amazing. They team us up with Peter who is a very calm and experienced guide. It felt very personalized. Ocean dives were great as well. Not too many in a group.

Went diving with Beyond Diving during my recent trip to Playa Del Carmen. Great diving experience and the guide, Scuba Steve, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the dive sites. He was very helpful before and during the dive and made us feel safe the whole time. Steve also took us to see a nurse shark that was sleeping in a small cave. Felt completely safe. The shop based staff were also very good and helpful. Would highly recommend Beyond Diving.

There are 70+ dive operations in Playa Del Carmen and Beyond Diving is clearly one of the best. I could only make one dive so they set me up with a dive in Cozumel which was an exciting and well-run dive by the staff. Many of the dive shops consolidate trips to Cozumel because of the need for capable boats to cross the distance to the island. Highly recommend going this route vs. taking the ferry to Cozumel and going with a dive shop on the island and it comes down to time (getting done at 1PM vs. 5PM with the ferry for the same two dives!) Highly recommend Beyond Diving and won't hesitate to dive with them again!
