★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Imponente el gran desierto de Altar y la biósfera del Pinacate. Yo pienso que vale la pena dedicarle un día completo a ir a visitar el cráter El Elegante. El Elegante, es un cráter volcánico situado en la Sierra del Pinacate, en la zona del Gran desierto de Altar, en el Desierto de Sonora, México. El volcán es el más grande de una extensa cadena de conos y cráteres volcánicos, con 250 metros de profundidad y 1 500 metros de diámetro. El acceso principal se encuentra exactamente en el Km. 52 de la carretera 8 Puerto Peñasco – Sonoyta, a sólo tres horas y media de la cuidad de Phoenix, Arizona en Estados Unidos y a 30 minutos de Sonoyta y Puerto Peñasco, Sonora.

The Elegant is a volcanic crater located in the Sierra del Pinacate, in the area of the Great Altar Desert, in the Sonoran Desert, Mexico. The volcano is the largest in an extensive chain of volcanic cones and craters, 250 meters deep and 1,500 meters in diameter. The main access is exactly at Km. 52 of Highway 8 Puerto Peñasco - Sonoyta, just three and a half hours from the city of Phoenix, Arizona in the United States and 30 minutes from Sonoyta and Puerto Peñasco, Sonora.
