I love going to train blackwood, it's a clean place, with a lot of equipment and the coaches are super friendly and attentive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a large Gold’s-gym type operation. The walls were adorned with pics of champion bodybuilders. It has a large selection of free weights and machines that are well maintained. They have a couple dozen cardio machines. It definitely tilts towards bodybuilding. The gym was clean and Covid-sensitive. Everyone wore masks and there were strategically placed cleaning solvents and towels for the equipment. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They easily accommodated me for a reasonable rate for my 30 plus day stay in Oaxaca. The clientele runs the gambit from professional bodybuilders to average Joes and Janes. I didn’t spot a single obvious tourist so best to brush up on your Spanish. I liked the place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Only 50 pesos for a day pass (Aurobics nearby is 100). Lots of old-school weightlifting equipment (hammerstrength and free weights). Three squat racks plus two smith machines. Playlist is lit. Great gym!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great, large space with tons of equipment. $50 pesos a day drop in or $200 for a week. Note that the cardio equipment is very popular (and antiquated.) Happy to have found this spot in Oaxaca!
