★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Boca paila es una de las peores playas que he conocido en mi vida, partiendo por el camino de llegada que es pésimo, la playa está sucia y tiene basura por todos lados, ni el municipio ni los privados dueños de la mayoría de la costa hacen nada al respecto.
A pesar de tener potencial para ser una playa hermosa es una experiencia horrible ir, sin duda jamás volvería en mi vida.
 Boca paila is one of the worst beaches I have ever known in my life, starting with the arrival road that is terrible, the beach is dirty and has garbage everywhere, neither the municipality nor the private owners of most of the coast do nothing in regards.
Despite having the potential to be a beautiful beach it is a horrible experience to go, without a doubt I would never return in my life.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Очень живописный уединенный пляж. Огромные волны. Белоснежный песок. Много мусора, который сильно портит впечатление от пляжа. И конечно дорога- грунтовая дорога, разбитая и не ремонтируемая.
A very picturesque secluded beach. Huge waves. White sand. A lot of rubbish, which greatly spoils the impression of the beach. And of course the road is a dirt road, broken and not repaired.

Sian ka'an = where the sky is born, largest biosphere in the Mexican Republic 652km'2 .. migration time seabirds up to 260 .. bottlenose dolphins .. 5 types of sea turtles .. manatees ... freshwater crocodile and salty ugati and moreletti... natural pool "Blanquisal" a paradise.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Used the fishing guide service, buy did not stay at the 'lodge'. There is a large resort compound that has been abandoned, and guests stay at several other houses. The guides were not very friendly and seemed put out that we were there. Our guide on the boat did work to put us on fish, but was very annoyed at our casting skills. This was our first time flats fishing, and I was spotting some fish before the guide did. I would save my money and just wade fish near the Boca Paila bridge.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Long ride to reach the bridge on a moto, the road is rough and gets a bit dusty, the views when you arrive are quite stunning, it's a long drive before you see any ocean as the view on the road is blocked by trees on both sides. At the moment there's lots of seaweed and it smells bad in some places, but overall it was a nice adventure. If you plan on staying for the day to swim and enjoy the beaches once you arrive it is definitely worth the trouble. If you are arriving to have a quick look around it maybe not worth the effort.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As mentioned in previous reviews the fishing lodge is closed since 2013. Much has changed in the whole Tulum area and in my opinion for the worst!
I first stayed at the fishing lodge in 2008. It was a fantastic well run fishing lodge, I am surprised it was sold watch out for another development on this site? Tulum use to have a couple of small boutique hotels and a couple of restaurants a few. Local stalls and the road to Boca Paila was all jungle with no developments apart from the fishing lodge. However all is not lost for Fly fishers, contact Chico via Boca Paila website a wonderful patient cheerful knowledgeable guide. He will guarantee to put you on many fish, the rest is up to you!!
