★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was nice but I've seen nicer. I was excited for the painted murals but it was a bit underwhelming and they weren't as well preserved as the pictures would make you believe. Still, if you're interested in Mesoamerican history then it's worth it. The site itself is a little too clearcut for my taste and there's plastic roofing everywhere to protect the ruins which although understandable make for slightly less picturesque photos. I would have liked to spend a bit longer in the shop area if only to learn more about the Mayan people living and working there as artisans. It was skipped over fairly quickly because we were on a schedule which was a shame.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don't go during COVID! The entire place is closed off except for the open square. It's pointless. The people who run the place sneakily "forget" to mention that the whole building where the murals are displayed is closed. Disonhest.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A relatively small site that is primarily know for its murals. There are a lot of rules to see the murals though - no hats, no backpacks, no flash . . .
Also, near the entrance are the buildings used by archaeologists for their work. A treat since at other sites such facilities are kept out of sight.
btw - It rains often so be prepared.
