***BEWARE OF SURPRISE CHARGES*** I had went to this spa to make an appointment for the 2 for 1 viva tequila message promo as shown on the Vidanta app. I only wanted the 50 minute massage but I was advised that only the 80 minute qualified for this promotion. So my husband booked the 80 minute massage on Tuesday at 11AM to get the promotion. Right before our massage we were advised that there was an avocado facial included so we didn't question it. One day before our checkout at Vidanta, my husband went to close out the account (they put a hold on your card in case you make purchases within the resort and you want it to be charged on this card). To our surprise, he was being charged for the 2 massages, without the promotional discount applied. The lobby manager, Marco, reached out to the spa and advised of the error on the charges being applied onto the account, the spa manager, Sandy said she would write an email to justify the override for the error on the account. As we went back to our room, Sandy called us and was extremely rude over the phone. She accused us of lying in the lobby and that we saw the promotion after our massage and that we were seeking a discount. WHICH WAS NOT TRUE! My husband and I walked in asking for the promo on the app. Sandy proceeded to inform us that she was not going to honor the discount advertised on the app and was going to charge us 2 for 1 on the facials applied on us. ***The ones her employees mentioned were included with our massage.*** I personally think its unfair to get surprise charges and be informed in the upmost disrespectful manner. The manager Marco understood our situation and knew our story made full sense, but still decided not to further interject. We were charged 1500 pesos which is equivalent to 75 dollars for facials that we never wanted in the first place. I had once considered buying into a timeshare with Vidanta, but after seeing how a problem was solved, it became an immediate concern. I cannot imagine how guests/ tourist at Vidanta would feel if they fully bought a timeshare or spent their savings to travel and this happened to them. For this reason I wrote this review, to advise of mischarges of services and still having to pay for the errors of others because you are forced to keep a card on file. This really made me feel not valued and that there is a lack of integrity within Vidanta, Managers and their Spa employees.
